A VERY COLD,DRY & ' CRISP' SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 9th/ JANUARY 2018.

Just a little lie in this morning, after a quick freshen up we had our normal breakfast of ‘Weetabix’ toast & tea, before ‘ Chico’ was dropped off for his weeks holiday, he settles in very well and is very good company, he’s not a problem to look after, he’s a real character and gets on with all the other dogs, ‘Reina’ is due tomorrow morning and is with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ on Thursday/Friday as well.

I then popped down to our local butchers to stock up for the week, the workmen in ‘Calle Mar’ are at the moment putting in the drains along the street, which after the heavy rain is a quagmire, to say the least, Brenda then shot out to the Chemists for our prescription tablets, on the way back she called into our local shop in our street for some essentials.

This morning it’s, as forecast, very cold but most importantly dry, the sky has cleared and there is a slight breeze, overnight is dropped to 6/7 degs and is due to reach only 14 degs later, the rest of the week is staying dry & sunny, hovering on the 15/17 degs mark, the weekend is also looking the same, next week we are in for more of the of the cold weather front, with the threat of the wet stuff on the horizon, yesterday along the coast in Fuengirola they had snow on the beach, the roads and area around Ronda were closed with snow drifts and all the mountains on the horizon had fresh coverings of snow, including the ‘ Sierra Bermeja’ next to the village, behind Estepona, as you can see in the picture below.

Speaking of cold and snowy weather, over in Ottawa, Canada, today, it's Sandra's daughter, Alanna, birthday, " Happy Birthday - Feliz CumpleaƱos " - See below.

I picked up from the butchers a slice of his best ‘Braising Steak ‘ for tomorrow and also ‘ Chicken Wings’ for another day, for this evenings supper I bought an ‘ Escalope of Chicken Breast’ which he takes off the Chicken (local) and skins & slices into Escalope’s, at Brenda’s request, we are having the old classic of my version of “ Chicken Maryland “ – the Escalope’s coated in breadcrumbs from the local Bakery, served with Banana Fritters ( breadcrumbs also) – both shallow fried until crisp, in vegetable oil, garnished with seared Pineapple slices & Crispy Smoked Bacon! Accompanied with twice-cooked ‘ Stringfellow’ Frits and a ‘Sweetcorn’ salsa.

 NB;

As I was coming online this morning I had a problem with the ‘ Skype’ system, at the moment it’s off-line and I’ve had no success, so far, of getting back online, I will get my technical expert/advisor Lee to help tomorrow evening when he picks up little princess ‘ Reina’ – watch this space.

It’s an ‘at home day’ today, we will venture later, after wrapping up, to take ‘ Chico’ out for his walks, otherwise we are staying indoors in front of the TV, we put the Oil Heater on in the lounge a little later, which keeps us warm for the evening, before we go to bed we switch on the small Oil Heater in the bedroom to take the chill off the room before we go to bed, with lots of duvets, blankets etc to keep us warm!

Last night after supper we after channel hopping, watching Quiz shows etc, we then caught the first episode of the new series of “ Silent Witness “  as usual it’s a two-part story line with Emilia Fox in the main role.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
