A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 22nd/ JANUARY 2018.

I was up early this morning to welcome back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she shot upstairs and claimed her regular spot back on our bed as ‘ Charlie’ slept down stairs on one of the settees, we then a nice long lie in, she then goes in her duvet, outside the office/studio, she’s with us tomorrow & Wednesday, ‘Charlie’ is due to be picked up on Wednesday, so we are ‘ ‘doggy-free’ for the coming weekend, for the first time in a while!

After a quick freshen up we took ‘Charlie’ out for his first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village, we take him out, again, at lunchtime and then in the early evening, finally before going to bed it’s a quick walk to get him comfortable for the night.

PS; ' Chispa' is back this morning, as Isobel has returned from her daughters, after not being too well, no doubt she will be calling later to see her friends. ( Chispa!)

We then had our normal breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea, we then sorted out the menu’s for the week ahead, we are out on Friday morning down at the Medical Centre in Sabinillas, for our appointments with our Doctor, Natalia, for our review/check-ups, we will then carry on and do the weekly shopping, Brenda is now pottering and as you can see I’m up in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’ catching up with the ‘E-Mails, Facebook Messages etc’ - reading the newspapers, watching the news and then typing/posting the ‘Blog’

The sun was out first thing this morning and the sky was clear & bright blue as we set off for our walk, there was no breeze so it was very warm in the sunshine, for the first time you didn’t need a coat, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 20 degs+ The rest of the week and over the weekend is staying the same but going a little cooler as the week goes on, by Friday dropping back down to 13 degs, overnight 6/7 degs – next week is also forecast to be settled but with the chance of the wet stuff returning, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having one of our favourite old ‘ classics’ – ‘Escalope’s of Pork Schnitzels ‘ – ‘ Holstein’ style – using breadcrumbs from the local Bakery, they are shallow fried in Vegetable Oil, until crisp, and served with lots of Lemon wedges, they are topped with Capers & Anchovy Fillets and a ‘ Campo Fried Egg ‘ ! Accompanied with ‘ Spaghetti Milanese’- tossed in a rich Tomato salsa with a ‘Julienne’  of Smoked Ham, and finely sliced Green Beans, with a sauceboat of the Tomato salsa on the side!!

Tomorrow evening it’s going to be ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ with all the trimmings, on Wednesday I’m making my famous ‘ Braised Steak with Mushroom & Onions’ – Thursday is – left-over’s night and on Friday we will have ‘ Fish’n Chips’ – Saturday we be our regular ‘ Steak Night’ and the next Sunday we will be ‘ Roasting’ – TBC! Watch this space.

Last night after supper we watched the next episode of “ McMafia “ as the main character got more involved in all the plotting, his father’ mistress is pregnant, one of the main ‘Baddies’ came out as gay and was charged with rape, his two accusers were then disposed off, one shot and the other committed suicide, the ‘Mexican’ gang boss reappeared, contracts were signed, promises broken and then at the very end the nasty ‘ Russian’ mob boss, who kills anybody he dosn’t like, turned up at the airport and threatens our ‘ hero’ and his family! Watch this space.

                                                   It's just a 'Rumor' - I only would go to Liverpool !!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
