A RATHER WET, COLD AND GREY SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 14th/ JANUARY 2018.

We had a little lie in this morning before getting the day on the go, after a quick freshen up we had our toast & tea, after taking ‘ Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, we then got this evenings supper on the go.

Yesterday the rain, as forecasted, didn’t arrive, but overnight its came back, this morning it was very dark, cloudy & overcast, with a storm on the horizon, we managed to get back to the house just before the rain arrived, it’s now raining ‘  Persistenty ‘! – only reaching 13 degs by this afternoon, next week is now looking dry & sunny with no clouds, reaching the heady heights of 18/19 degs by mid-week, watch this space.

See below the early dawn waterfront skyline this morning over in Liverpool.

For our ‘ Sunday Roast ‘ we are having a “ Topside of English Beef “ ( cooked ‘ Pink’) with Yorkshire Pudding and my famous ‘ finger-licking’ Pan Gravy, the ‘ Vegetable Chef’ is preparing  Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce, Glazed Carrot Batons & Whole French Green Beans, Braised Onions & Garden Peas, as well as my famous ‘ Goose-Fat’ Roast Potatoes, not forgetting lots of ‘Horseradish’ sauce on the side!

Just a quick update on yesterdays football results; I’m sorry to report the Everton lost 4-0 to ‘ Spurs’ – over here the ‘good news’ is that Real Madrid were beaten at home by Villarreal ( The Yellow Submarine )  0-1 !!

Over the weekend the new ‘ Pizzeria ‘ down our street “ Pizza Lovers “  has been doing a roaring business, the local Padre, Jose , called and ‘ blessed the new business, as you can see in the picture below, with Luigi on the left and Domenico, next to the Padre, with the Church Secretary! The selection of ‘Pizzas’ are flying out of the new double-oven, as you can see!

And the ' Lasagna & Cannelloni '

This evening we are making contact with Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada via the ‘ Skype’ video, for a catch up with all their news.

Last night after supper we channel hopped before catching the next two, back to back, episodes of the excellent French police drama series “ Spiral “ over on BBC Four ( with sub-titles ) – another gripping episode as the different story lines came together, another day, another body! ‘ Caroline Proust, Audrey Fleurot & Thierry Godard are all excellent.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
