A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 25th MAY 2016.

I was up first this morning and after seeing ‘ Reina’ back for the day I then caught the gas bottle delivery man for a new bottle, the price is controlled by the Government and has just gone up by 1 Euro for the first time in over a year, yesterday our new ‘Electric Meter’ was installed outside, so its now ‘Online’ for the reading, at the same time the ‘Council Workmen’ are taking down in our street and others all the unwanted electric cables that hang along all the buildings, they have just done our corner and the walls of our house.

Its yet another glorious day here in sunny Manilva, the sun is out, the sky is Blue and there is a little breeze, by lunchtime its due to reach 25/26 degs, at night its up to 18/19 degs, the forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend into next week is for more of the same, see the picture below of ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa’ this morning.

No word from the ‘ Moffatt’s’ on their travels, the last we heard was that they where heading up North from Sevilla towards Salamanca and then along the Northern coast towards San Sebastian before catching the ferry back from Bilbao on the 13th June. See the picture below of Thea & Tim in Cadiz.

At this very moment Jack & Lyn are in the air on their way to England, they are due to arrive tomorrow morning in Manchester. They are heading to Norah’s in Runcorn first before going to Jenny’s on the Wirral later; then on the 13th June they all arrive here in sunny Manilva for ten days.

Before typing & posting the Blog I’ve just made this evenings supper when Lee is joining us, ‘Chicken, Mushroom & Tarragon Casserole’ I cook off the finely diced Onions, Shallots & Garlic before adding the Carrots, Leeks, Celery & Mushrooms, Diced Smoked Bacon & Pimentos, lots of Tarragon herbs along with the secret ingredients before a good slug of Brenda’s White Wine! The cubed Chicken, Leg, Thigh & Breast are dusted in flour and cooked off before adding to the pan, then a strong Chicken & Vegetable stock is added and left to simmer under the supervision of the ‘ Second Chef’!

The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ is preparing Whole Green Beans, Carrot Batons with Garden Peas and her famous ‘ Mashed Potato’ The ‘ Larder Chef’ is getting ready the light assorted ‘Tapas’ starters and finally the ‘ Pastry Chef’ is working on the dessert of Melon, Strawberries & Ice Cream! Before all this the ‘ Housekeeper’ has just reminded me that she has done the ironing, washing, made the beds and washed and re-hung all the net curtains!!

Last night we watched after supper the coverage on BBC 2 of the ‘ Chelsea Flower Show’ before catching the late film on ‘ Antenna 3’

Thoughts for the Day, See above.
