A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 14th / MAY 2016.

I was up early this morning and after a quick breakfast I shot down to the studio in ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa’ to set up and present my  live show ‘ Sir Malcolm’s Saturday Classic Session’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’

It was a very good programme with lots of technical stuff on the multi screens and mixing deck, great tracks which had Andrew joining in with on his acoustic five string bass! The request track for our friends and old customers Terry & Alma up in Caan, France went down a storm, ‘ A Daisy A Day ‘ by Jed Strunk, you just have to join in and sing-a-long to it! See the picture below taken from the roof of the studio.

On the way I called into the  ‘English  Butchers’ in ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa’ for some Gammon Steaks, fresh homemade Cumberland Sausages & their excellent boiled York Ham; everywhere I go I get people to tune into the show and the station!

Today  the weather is back to normal down here on the ‘ Costa del Sol ‘ The sky is blue, the sun is back and its now warm & sunny, there is a light breeze which makes it very pleasant, tomorrow and into next week its getting warmer, back to normal for this time of the year.

When I returned home my ‘ Co-Producer ‘ – ‘ Lady’ Brenda welcomed me with open arms, she still cricticise’s  the mistakes but agrees that its getting more professional!! Watch this space and keep listening.

Yesterday lunchtime we took Tim & Thea along to one of our favourite restaurants ‘ Kokomo’ – they were very impressed as we had yet another very simple, but classic lunch; Brenda had the ‘Grilled Cajun Salmon’ resting on fine Green Beans, Tim & Thea both had the ‘ Grilled Rib Eye Steak’ with Garlic Butter and I had for a change the ‘ Beef Stroganoff’ – on the side we had their excellent ‘Frits’ a Mixed Salad, Baby New Potatoes and Garden Pea with Carrots; the house ‘ Cava Rosado’ went down a treat along with some glasses of the ‘house’ Sauvigon Blanc & Shiraz for the folks, we then came back along the coast road to the site to say our farewells as they where heading off up to Cadiz this morning, safe journey on your ‘ travels’ and lots of love, until the next time!  See the pictures below; Watch this space.

On the sports from this weekend its the final matches of the season, Over in the ‘Premiere League’ on Sunday  Everton welcome Norwich & Manchester City travel down to Swansea and Liverpool are at West Brom just down the M6; over here in ‘La Liga’ today Real Madrid are up at Deportivo de la Coruna & Barcelona are down here in Granada, when they win they are the champions! Meanwhile also here in Spain up in Barcelona its the ‘ Spanish Grand Prix’ – Lewis Hamilton has just taken the pole position for tomorrow race.

PS; BARCELONA ARE THE ' LA LIGA' CHAMPIONS after they beat Granada 0-3 with a ' Suarez' hat-trick!!!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Grilled Fillet Steaks’ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ with Baby Mushrooms, ' French' Fried Onion Rings, grilled Tomato, whole Green Beans & twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ - with on the side ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce; tomorrow evening we are having ‘ Braised Steak’ in a rich Red Wine, Mushroom & Onion Sauce. See this evenings ' Steak Night' below;

Last night we watched on BBC 2 ‘Rick Stein’s Long Weekend’ in Vienna, he started with the classic and my very favourite ‘ Wiener Schnitzel’ – a very special ‘ Goulash’ again one of the first ‘ classic’ dishes that I tasted over 60 years ago! To finish it was a very special ‘ Apple Strudel’ and the famous ‘ Sacher Torte’ – a very rich & dense chocolate cake with a line of Apricot Jam.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
