A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 18th/ JUNE 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 96 “

After a little lie in this morning we freshened up as we were listening to the ‘ Lockdown Party’ show on ‘ Castle Radio FM89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – as the ‘ Mystery Voice’ quiz came on, it was an easy one today, it was the actor Nicholas Lyndhurst, yesterday I also got the correct answer, the ‘AM’ News presenter Lorraine Kelly, so we are back in form!

See below;

As I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with her favourite sliced/seared Button Mushrooms, tossed in the bacon juices with a knob of Butter, some of which made it into my Butty, with mugs of strong/hot Tea to start the day in the right way!

While we were having our breakfast we had a lovely surprise visitor,’ Chispa’ came bounding in, very excited, to see us, she made a big fuss as we did, she has been down at the families ‘ Campo’ in the valley, with Isobel and her daughter, for the past 3 months during the ‘ Lockdown’ – this morning Isobel has moved back into her house at the bottom of our street.

Later she joined us as we went down ‘ Masked/Gloved’ up to the ‘ Suma’ supermarket to stock up our ‘ Wine Cellar’ as well as some other essentials, as you can see below it’s looking a little ‘ Bare’ to say the least!

We have yet another glorious day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ and in sunny Manilva, the sun was out first thing after a ‘Red-Sky’ sunset, there is just a very slight breeze, so the sky is bright blue and cloudless, it’s very hot & sunny,  by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 29 degs+ - overnight only down to 19 degs+ - tomorrow on Friday even hotter, when we are going out tomorrow evening for our ‘ Fish N’ Chip’ supper, with Mushy Peas, along at ‘ Marlow’s’ past Sabinillas, then for cool drinks later in ‘Castillo de la Duquesa’

Over the weekend it’s staying the same, just a little cooler as the breeze picks up, by the time we are out & about again on Sunday at ‘Restaurante Delfines’ – which has been re-painted for our arrival!
 ( Pink?!)

Next week is now looking very warm & sunny, with lots of hot sunshine, hovering in the high 20s, by the next weekend up in the low 30s, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

All very quiet at the moment as we wait to enter the ‘ New Normality’ on Monday, watch this space.

Yesterday morning the ‘Maintenance’ man called in to repair our gas boiler, it went off the night before, it supplies all out hot water, it’s best that they check it out, as it’s certificated! In the afternoon our friend Andy called in, as I had asked him, to come and look at a couple of technical problems on my ‘IT’ system upstairs in the office/studio, which he then solved, so a couple of beers was called for – ‘Thanks’

For our supper this evening we are having seasoned ‘Pan-Seared Chicken Wings’ with a Baked Potato & finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans, on Saturday it’s going to be, for the first time in a while, ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks’ with all the trimming, to help celebrate Brenda’s birthday weekend in the right style!
