A ' FRESH ' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 2nd JUNE 2020.    “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 80 “

Just a little lie in this morning, after freshening up we had our regular fresh fruit ( sliced Apricot & Banana) with our toast and tea, to set us up for the day ahead, here in sunny Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ still in ‘ LOCKDOWN’

The ‘Mystery Voice’ quiz came on the ‘ Lockdown Party’ show on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – I made a quick guess and got it right, it was ‘ Harrison Ford’!

This morning on the ‘ Councils’ web-page they have announced two new initiatives, the first is promoting ‘ Manilva, The Infinite Beaches of the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – eight kilometres of unspoilt coastline, with wide sandy beaches, a quiet destination, at the center of the ‘ Costa Del Sol, a natural paradise, 16 beach bars, clean and maintained beaches, awarded the ‘ Blue Flag of the Seas of Europe’ for quality, services & hygiene!

The second is a ‘Open Air Cinema’ down on the large ‘Rastro Ground’ in the valley below the village, showing family films, all free and by tickets, while sitting in your car! Starting on Friday the 12th of June and then every weekend.

Finally four of the ‘Children’s Parks & Playgrounds’ have been completely remodelled, updated and with improved safety for all the little ones!

Yesterday evening, as it was so calm, peaceful and a beautiful warm & sunny early evening, we went up to ‘ Bar Rojas Sol Vida’ sat on the shady side of the street, for a nice cool drink, a large glass of their excellent ‘Italian’ White Wine for Brenda and a very large ‘Cuba Lire’ for me!

Our friends Russell & Jackie came along and joined us, so we had a nice chat and catch up with them, a friend of Leah’s came across and introduced herself to us, Amanda (Mandy) works in Gibraltar with our old friend Daniela, she has offered to help with our main shopping ( Mercadona & Super Sol) if needed- ‘thanks’!

The two ‘Fabio’s’ were doing a roaring business, with all the outside tables full ( 50%) and the inside open as well ( 50%) at the same time. We came home a little later, for our supper, feeling rather ‘ Happy’ as the drinks had flowed!

This morning it’s very calm as the breeze has dropped, the sun is out and the sky is clearing and blue, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 26/27 degs+ - overnight down to 16/17 degs+ - the rest of the week is now going to be dry & sunny, with a few patchy clouds hanging around, hovering in the mid/high 20s, with just the chance of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ in the air, with light breezes keeping it ‘ Fresh’ – the perfect time of the year, next week is now looking very warm & sunny, with lots of sunshine all week, the perfect start to June, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Nothing to report today, all is quiet in ‘ Lockdown’ as the ‘ National & Local ‘ figures showed a fall in the infection rates and no new coronavirus-related deaths in Spain over the last 24 hours.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Pan-Seared Lambs Liver’ – dusted in seasoned flour and ‘ Flash’ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate, accompanied with Grilled ‘English’ Pork Sausages, crispy ‘Spanish’ Smoked Bacon & Button Mushrooms, with a sauceboat of a rich ‘ Red Wine Onion Gravy’- served with a selection of fresh local Vegetables and a dish of ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes!

This afternoon we will be catching up with the ‘Quiz’ shows that we follow, later after supper channel hopping to find something to watch.

“ STAY SAFE AND WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
