A STILL OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 4th/ JUNE 2020.    “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 82 “

Just a little lie in this morning, after freshening up we had a quick toast & tea, to set us up for the day ahead. We had planned to have our breakfast out tomorrow morning, along at ‘Bar Castillo’ as they were re-opening in ‘Phase 2’ of the ‘State of Alarm’ – but sadly it has been postponed until Friday 12th – against their will?!  Watch this space.

Yesterday evening we went down to the local surgery, ‘masked/gloved ‘ up for our appointment with the ‘ Council’ Chiropodist – it was Laura, who we have seen before, she is very quick & efficient, as we suspected we were charged 15 Euros each, as was suggested on the booking/  announcement ‘Wed Page’! It’s usually ‘ Free’ for pensioners in the village?!  At the same time she confirmed that Carmen, our regular Chiropodist, is back working from today and that she is due to retire in September, so will see her at the end of July for our next appointment, watch this space.

As we set off to walk back our friend Brian came out of his street in his car, so he gave us a lift back around to ‘ Calle Mar’ – we ended up having a couple of drinks with him, sat on the shady side of the street, outside ‘ Bar Rojas Sol Vida ‘ in the hot evening sunshine, watching the world go by, having a good catch up with all his news.

'Brian's Beer '!

Sat next to us was a very nice lady, with her children, who we have seen around the village, her name is Carla, she is originally from Accrington, outside Manchester ,and is now living down by the ‘Manilva Green Aparthotel’ – with her was her daughter Mel (14 yrs) and her young daughter ‘ Kadie Star ‘ ( 7yrs) – so we had a nice chat with her and her ‘ Girls’ Nice to meet you and we will see you again!

Yesterday morning after breakfast we went down ‘ masked/gloved’ up to the ‘Suma ‘ supermarket to stock up the ‘ Larder’ – tomorrow morning we are now going back to stock up the ‘ Wine & Spirit Cellar ‘ !!

This morning has started a little grey & overcast, as forecast, the sun is attempting to break through, as there is a light breeze, the clouds are clearing slowly, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 23/24 degs+ - overnight down to 16/17 degs+ - tomorrow is looking the same, over the weekend going warmer and sunny, back up to 28 degs+ on Saturday, with lots of warm sunshine and just a few patchy clouds hanging around, next week is now looking more settled, with lots of sunshine & light breezes, while hovering in the mid ‘Teens’ – still a little cool for the start of June, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

After a bitter debate, yesterday evening, in the ‘ Congress –Parliament’ up in Madrid, Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, the ‘Socialist Party’ ( PSOE ) leader, found the votes needed to support the final ( sixth) extension to the ‘ State of Alarm’ to June 21st – started back on March 14th!

See below;

This evening for our supper it’s ‘ Omelettes of Choice’ – as usual for Brenda – ‘ Cheese’ ( grated Cheddar & Parmesan) – while I will be having my favourite ‘ Paysanne’ ( small/diced Potato, Shallots, Smoked Bacon, etc) – served with finely sliced Green Beans & Broccoli Florets, with a ‘Baked Potato’ on the side.

                                        “ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
