A VERY ' FRESH' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 5th/ JUNE 2020.    “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 83 “

For the first time in a long while we were up bright and early this morning, after a quick freshen up I shot down to the underground car park to pick up the car and collect Brenda at the top of our street in Calle Mar ‘ – we then headed down to Sabinillas, ‘masked/gloved ‘ up, for the first time in three months, through the green vine fields, on an exploratory adventure!

Our first port of call was the local ‘Market’ ( 30%)  at the far-end of the promenade, for fresh flowers for the lounge and fresh wall plants ( 10) for the various pots! The ‘ Flower’ man was delighted to see us and gave us a little discount as usual!

Next we went up to ‘Super Sol’ – which was very quiet, it’s very well stocked, so we had a good stock up with lots of essentials as well as some ‘ goodies’! I then dropped Brenda off at the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers & ‘TV’ magazine, we then checked out ‘ Mercadona’ for the parking/queues etc, before shooting back up the hill to unload back at the house. A quick toast and tea was then called for!

Next on the agenda, over the next couple of weeks, will be trip to the ‘ English Butchers’ and a visit to ‘Mercadona’ Watch this space.

Meanwhile over in ‘Coolum Beach’ in Queensland, Australia, Jeff was out for his first pint in three months! “ Cheers “ !!

As we getting ready to go out we were listening to the ‘ Lockdown Party’ show on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ as the ‘ Mystery Voice’ quiz came on, for the first time today, it was ‘ Dame Judy Dench’ – yesterday I was the first to guess the answer, it was the ‘ Beast of Bolsover’ – the right-wing Labour MP ‘ Dennis Skinner’! So this week I’m 5 out of 5!

This morning the sun was out first thing and the sky has cleared and is now bright blue, there is a light ‘ cooling’ breeze, with warm sunshine, so by lunchtime it’s going to reach 26/27 degs+ - overnight down to 16/17 degs+ - tomorrow and on Sunday even a little hotter, next week is now looking settled, warm and sunny, with just a few patchy clouds at times, with light breezes, hovering in the mid ‘teens’ – going a little warmer by next weekend, nearly back to normal for the time of the year ( June) Watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

The ‘ Manilva Council’ after yesterdays ‘ online ‘ monthly’ council meeting have just announced a series of measures to reactivate the economy after the ‘ Covid 19 ‘ pandemic. “ Active Manilva “

The ‘ National Government’ have just announced that ‘ Phase 3 ‘ will start next Monday 8th June, as long that the results etc remain good, which means that we will be able to travel between ‘provinces’ for the first time in three months – watch out Sotogrande!

For our supper this evening we are having, for a change ‘ Pan-Seared Darnes of Salmon’ ( Super Sol) – ‘ A la Meuniere ‘ style ( Lemon & Parsley Butter) – with a classic ‘ Hollandaise’ sauce, served with Garden Peas, Broccoli Florets &  peeled Baby New Potatoes.

On Saturday we are having a large  grilled ‘ Entrecote Steak’ ( Super Sol ) with all the trimmings, then on Sunday it’s going to be ‘Baked Pork Chops’ ( Super Sol) with fresh/local Vegetables & ‘ Lyonnaise’ Potatoes.

“ STAY SAFE AND WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
