A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 27th/ JUNE 2020.    “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 6 “

We had a nice lie in this morning after a busy week, after freshening up, as usual, on a Saturday morning, Brenda was on the breakfast rota so I had her perfect ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast’ – Scrambled for herself, the ‘ Campo’ Eggs were fresh yesterday, they have bright/rich Yellow/Gold yolks, accompanied with mugs of very hot/strong tea, to set us up for the weekend ahead.

Overnight it was very hot, this morning there is a light breeze, the sun was out early and the sky is now cloudless and blue, by lunchtime it’s going to reach 32 degs+ - down to only 21 degs during the night time, tomorrow even a little hotter, in parts of inland Spain up to 39 degs+! Next week is going to be a ‘ Hot-One’ – at the start of July, as the breeze drops, with very hot sunshine, hovering in the low/mid 30s, only dropping a little by next weekend when the breeze picks up, the following week is looking very similar, watch this space.

Yesterday the ‘Spanish Government’ passed/approved the decree for the ‘ New Normality’ – rules, governed by the 17 Regional autonomous regions, including the mandatory use of face masks in closed spaces, as well as in open spaces, if it is not possible to maintain a safety distance of 1-5 meters!

See below;

Over in the UK the football season is being finished behind locked gates, the ‘TV’ companies add ‘ Crowd Noises’ and the clubs have advertising around the ground & stands, as well as cut-out pictures of fans, sat in their seats!

In the ‘Premiere League’ Newcastle Utd welcome Manchester City, next week Everton are at home to Leicester City and Liverpool, the crowned ‘ Champions’ travel down the ‘ East Lancashire Road’ to play the ex-champions  Manchester City on the 2nd July.

Over here in ‘La Liga ‘ with 7 matches still to play, Barcelona visit Celta Vigo & Real Madrid go across to play Espanyol!

At lunchtime we went along to 'Bar Castillo' for nice cool drinks, sat in the shade, as the temperatures reached 33 degs+!

For our supper this evening we are having a large slice of ‘Spanish Steak with Fat’ – seared on a very hot Griddle-Plate – ‘Med-Rare’ – then left to rest – carved into slices ‘French’ style, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms and shallow-fried Onion Rings, coated in the ‘ Cruzcampo’ Beer Batter, served with whole Baby ‘ French’ Green Beans and of course triple-cooked ‘ Frits

Hopefully we will be watching the TV later, to catch some football and later find something to follow, over on ‘BBC TV 2’ it’s a weekend of repeats of the ‘ Glastonbury Festival ‘ ( cancelled the year!) – last night it showed Oasis, the Rolling Stones and then Beyonce!

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES – IN SELF-LOCKDOWN HERE “
