A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 28th/ JUNE 2020.     “ NEW NORMALITY – DAY 7 “

We had a nice long lie in this morning before the church bells (2) started, calling the ‘ Faithful’ to Mass, after freshening up, after another very ‘sticky’ night, I  had a surprise breakfast, as Brenda had cooked some ‘English Pork Sausages’ - so I had a ‘ Toasted Sausage Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of hot/strong tea to get us ready for the day ahead!

Last night over in Llandudno, in North Wales,  the promenade was lit up in the colours of the ‘NHS’ – as you can see below.

This morning the sun was out first thing, the sky has cleared and is cloudless and bright blue, there is a light breeze, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 32/33 degs+ - overnight only down to 21 degs+  - next week, at the start of July, we are in for a ‘ Hot-One’ – with very hot & sunny weather, light breezes, and cloudless blue skies, hovering in the low/mid 30s, by next Wednesday up to 34 degs+ - next weekend it’s going to be a little cooler as the breeze stiffens, the following week we are in for more of the same, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having my classic recipe/version of a ‘ Seafood Risotto ‘ – made with ‘ Spanish Arborio’ Rice’ from Valencia, starting with lightly sautéed diced Shallots ( no colour) with a small dash of ‘Lea & Perrins and Tabasco’ – then the rice is added, along with a good glug of White Wine, the rich ‘ Fish’ stock is then slowly added, stirring all the time, then I add the cubed assorted fish, mussels & small Gambas (shell on) – next the larger shelled/cooked Prawns & Garden Peas, adjusting the seasoning, adding a little chopped Parsley & grated Parmesan and a dash of Cream, garnished with Asparagus Spears, Prawns ( shell on) and large Mussels in the shell!

Here in the village all the Bars,  along ‘ Calle Mar’ - except ‘ Nachos Bar’ are now re-opened, next week ‘ Cacho Voy ‘ next to the ‘Plaza Pozo del Rey’ in the centre of the village is due to re-open after having a kitchen update, see below.

‘Cafe Plaza’ is back into the routine, the ‘ New’ bar next door is still being worked on, ‘Bar Luque’ opposite is open when he want’s to, also the new 'El Pestana ' is now open, sadly ‘Bar Ocaña ‘ is now closed permanently ( still Hostal  Ocaña open)

Our friends, the two ‘ Fabio’s’ at ‘ Bar Rojas Sol y Vida’ are doing a roaring business, both Spanish & English.

Finally the most popular and very busy ‘Bar Castillo’ is fully back in business, see below.

She's still there !

Just a very quick update on the football results; Barcelona could only draw 2-2 – so are only 1 point ahead, in ‘La Liga’ of Real Madrid who play this evening, later today Manchester City are at Newcastle in the Sixth Round of the FA Cup.

Yesterday we watched some football, which is not very exciting with no crowds, then after supper more re-plays of ‘ Glastonbury’ – with ‘Adele, Coldplay and the magnificent Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band’

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES – IN SELF LOCKDOWN HERE “

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
