A GLORIOUS ' FRESH' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 6th/ JUNE 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 84 “

We managed a nice lie in this morning, before the sound of the gas-bottle delivery man, blowing his horn, woke us up, after freshening up as Brenda was on the breakfast rota, as usual, on a Saturday morning, it was time for her perfect ‘ Campo Poached Eggs on Toast’- Scrambled for herself, on Brown Toast, with mugs of hot/strong tea to help wash them down.

It’s another beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ and especially up in sunny Manilva, the sun was out first thing and there is a light breeze, so the sky is blue and cloudless, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 28/29 degs+ - overnight down to 15/16 degs+ tomorrow a little cooler as the breeze picks up, next week it’s going to be warm & sunny all week, with just a few patchy clouds at times, hovering in the mid ‘ Teens’ – with light breezes keeping it ‘fresh’ –  the perfect time of the year,  the following week going warmer, before the really hot-stuff hits us, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Just to confirm that on Monday we are moving into ‘ Phase 3 ‘ in Andalusia, after our region, was given special permission to move, despite only being in ‘ Phase 2 ‘ for a week, as well as nearly half of Spain, as you can see below.

All this means is that the sidewalk ‘Cafe/Bars’ can then open to 75% - as well as social gatherings of 20 people are allowed, most importantly is that the regional authorities will now assume control of the overall deescalation process during the stage, as well as how long the final period should last, watch this space.

NB; In sunny Manilva there have been no new infections with ‘Covid 19’ in recent days, so we have had 6 cases, of which 4 have now been cured! Watch this space.

Tomorrow  we have arranged a ‘ Skype’ video link-up with Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, at 6-00 pm our time, mid-day over there, for a nice catch up with all their news. Watch this space.

For our supper we are having a large ‘Spanish Entrecote Steak’ – seasoned and cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left to rest, sliced into fingers ‘ French’ style and garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms & Shallots, with a classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce, served with Whole ‘ French’ Baby Green Beans and triple-cooked ‘ Frits’

Last night we watched  “ The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys “ this week down in New Zealand, on the ‘ Northern Explorer’ which goes from Auckland, across the North Island to Wellington, over 423 miles, passing over 25 major viaducts/bridges and through 14 tunnels, taking over 11+ hours, through some of the most astonishing landscapes in the southern hemisphere, with volcanoes to coast, and from lava fields to unspoilt islands, passing the bridge at Tangiwai, where back in 1953, at 10:21 pm on the 24th December,  151 people were killed by a volcanic mudflow that hit a train!
