A ' FRESH ' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 7th/ JUNE 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 85 “

Well we had another nice long lie in this morning until the sound of the Church bells, calling the ‘Faithful’ to Mass woke us up! After freshening up it was time for our regular light breakfast of toast & tea, to get the start of another day/week in ‘ LOCKDOWN’ on the go, here in sunny Manilva.

This morning the sun is just starting to break through and the clouds are clearing, with a blue sky coming through, as there is just a slight breeze, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 26/27 degs+ - overnight down to 17/18 degs+ - next week is now looking settled with lots of sunshine, with a few patchy clouds at times, the light breezes will keep it ‘ Fresh’ – hovering in the mid ‘ Teens’ all week and over next weekend, the following week is going to be warmer, as the breezes drop,  up in the high 20s, about normal for June, watch this space.

See below a picture taken this morning of the sky over the ‘ Anglican Cathedral ‘ in Liverpool, after the passing of the storms.

Just a few facts; it took 74 years to build ( 1904/78) –  it’s the longest Cathedral in the World and the fifth-largest and one of the tallest non-spired church buildings, the organ ( Henry Wills & Sons) is the largest pipe organ in the UK and one of the largest instruments in the World, at 220 ft, above floor level, the bells ( 13) are the highest and heaviest ringing peal in the World.

See below a couple of pictures taken yesterday lunchtime of ‘ Calle San Vicente 1 ‘ in sunny Manilva, after the wall pots and window sills had the new plants on display.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

“ PHASE 3 ‘ STARTS ON MONDAY 8th JUNE.

PS; The beaches are open for walking & swimming.

The ‘ National Government’ up in Madrid are preparing a draft decree making Face masks obligatory to wear, with fines up to 100 Euros, for people who do not wear the protective equipment in closed public spaces, public transport, shops etc, after the ‘ State of Alarm’ ends on the 21st June, and will continue into the future, in the so called ‘ New Normality’ – until the government declares the ‘ Coronavirus’ crisis to be completely over!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Spanish Baked Pork Chops’ – which the lady butcher in ‘Super Sol’ cut on a band-saw, leaving the bone in, I first sear/colour them on a very hot griddle-plate, then they are topped with ‘Mixed Herb’ crust and baked in a hot oven, with slices of ‘ Fuji’ Apples, accompanied with a sauceboat of ‘Pan Gravy’ – served with Glazed Carrots, Diamond-Cut Runner Beans, Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets and the classic ‘ Pommes de Terre Lyonnaise ‘ – sliced boiled Potatoes pan-fried with sliced Onions & sautéed in foaming Parsley Butter!

From the oven!

The ‘ Menu’s for the week ahead have been agreed; on Monday it’s ‘ Chicken Empandas’ with Chips, for a change of Tuesday we are having ‘ Toasted Steak Sandwiches’ with my famous ‘ Ensaladilla Rusa- Russian Salad’ – which we are making on Tuesday morning, so on Wednesday it will be sliced ‘Poached Chicken Breast’ with Mixed salad  - Thursday is going to be ‘ Omelettes of Choice’ and Friday will be a ‘ Fish N’ Chip ‘ supper, next Saturday our usual ‘ Steak Night’ and then next Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

After supper this evening we will settled down to watch the final episode of this series of ‘Killing Eve’
