A ' FRESH' AND VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF AN ' HELLUVA' WEEK!

MONDAY 15th/ JUNE 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 93”

Just a little lie in this morning at the start of a ‘ Helluva’ week in sunny Manilva, after freshening up as I was on the breakfast rota, as usual, on a Monday morning, I had my favourite ‘ Dockers Butty ‘ –  on local bread, a 'Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ' on brown for Brenda, with her favourite sliced/seared Baby Mushrooms, tossed in the bacon juices with a knob of Butter, some of which made it into my Butty, with mugs of strong/hot tea on the side, to set us up for the week ahead!

Sadly this morning I didn’t guess the ‘ Mystery Voice’ on the ‘ Lockdown Part’ show on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – I’m still trying, watch this space.

On Thursday ‘ Scruffy’ is booked in for a sleep-over, with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ - until Friday afternoon, unless Adrian’s appointment is cancelled again, on Friday evening we are going out for our ‘ Fish N’ Chip ‘ supper, with Mushy Peas, down to ‘Marlows’ – along form Sabinillas- then later for a nice cool drink in ‘Castillo de la Duquesa’ – then on Sunday we are back out celebrating Brenda’s birthday at ‘ Restaurante Delfines’ in ‘Castillo de la Duquesa’ Watch this space.

Yesterday evening on our walk we bumped into Brian & Andy, outside ‘ Bar Rojas Sol Vida’ and joined them for a couple of drinks, at lunchtime they had joined us at ‘ Bar Rojas’ – as well as Mano & Carlos, which was very busy, for their first Sunday open - the ‘Paella’ run out, so Brain ended up having Baby Snails in a ‘Piquante’ Salsa! ( 3 Tapas!)

For our supper we had the ‘ Roast Chicken ‘ from the ‘ Rotisserie’ – which was perfect, juicy & succulent and very tasty, ‘Maria Chicken’ has retired and her son-in-law and daughter have taken over, they have expanded the ‘Menu’ and now deliver, it was very busy, with over 40 orders!

See below.

After breakfast Brenda ‘ masked/gloved’ up and went along the ‘ Chemists in ‘ Calle Mar’ for our prescription tablets, she then walked down to the local Monday market, on the ‘Plaza Pozo del Rey’- for some fresh fruit and flowers.

We have a glorious start to the week, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out earlier, there is a light breeze, so the clouds have cleared and the sky is bright blue, it’s still ‘ fresh’ and very warm & sunny in the sunshine, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 27/28 degs+ - overnight down to 15/16 degs+ - as the breeze drops it’s getting a little warmer each day, with lots of warm sunshine, with just a few patchy clouds, hovering in the high 20s - raising to 30 degs+ by Saturday/ Sunday, when we will be out & about, the following week is even looking more hotter, watch this space.

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

We are now into ‘ Phase 3’ in ‘ LOCKDOWN’ – one of the strictest ‘Coranavirus’ lockdowns in the World, which is due to end this coming Sunday as the final extension ( 6TH) to the ‘ State of Alarm’ finishes at mid-night, fears of new outbreaks is prompting the regional governments ( 17 ) who now control the rules etc, to limit the changes, to Bars etc, as well as still not allowing free movement between the provinces, despite it being in the ‘ Phase 3 ‘ laws/regulations!

Spain will reopen the borders, on Sunday the 21st June, to all ‘ EU’ states, but not Portugal, including the UK, despite it’s no longer in the EU!  Travellers arriving in the country will no longer be required to stay in quarantine for two weeks, travellers from outside the European Union & Portugal and the ‘Schengen’ free-travel area will be permitted to enter Spain from July 1st

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of ‘Roast Chicken’ along with Mixed Salads and Parsley New Potatoes. On Tuesday it’s going to be ‘ Grilled Pork Steaks’ on Wednesday Homemade Hamburgers ( local Butchers) – then on Thursday ‘ Pan-Seared Chicken Wings’ with Baked Potatoes, we are out on Friday for our ‘ Fish Supper’ and then on Saturday it will be our ‘ Steak Night’ – Sunday is the ‘ Staffs’ day-off, so we are out for a special lunch at ‘Restaurante Delfines’ to celebrate ‘ Brenda’s ( ** ) birthday!!

We will catching up with the ‘ Quiz’ shows that we follow this afternoon/evening then after supper watching the next episode of the first series of ‘Broadchurch’

“ STAY SAFE & WELL INSIDE AT ALL TIMES “
