A VERY ' FRESH & CRISP' SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 4th/ FEBRUARY 2019.   “ WORLD DAY AGAINST CANCER “

We had a little lie in this morning, as usual, the village is very quiet in the morning, no children, no neighbours, no cars, no deliveries etc, passing up & down our street first thing, later it picks up but is still very peaceful, we then freshened up, I was on the breakfast rota so we had my now famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’- open on brown for Brenda – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, with mugs of strong/hot tea to start the week in the right direction!

This evening we are walking down to the local Surgery, by the Sports Complex, as we have our appointments with the ‘ Councils’ Chiropodist, Carmen, tomorrow morning little ‘Winnie’ – the ‘Pug’ is coming to see us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ with her Mum & Dad, she could be back with us very shortly, this morning ‘ Chispa’ called in to see us, we have also agreed to ‘ House/Villa Sit’ two dogs in April( 4 days)  for our old friends Clive & Carolyn, up above ‘ Mijas Pueblo’ – we used to look after all their animals and large villa when we first moved down to the ‘ Costa Del Sol’

On Wednesday afternoon we are going down to the ‘Villa Matilda ‘ in Sabinillas for the Council ‘ Brexit’ meeting, see below.

As we were getting ready we were listening to the ‘Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW “ – the music quiz came on, it was an eight second backwards track, which ‘ Lady’ Brenda, as she is known on the programme, guessed correctly, as she was getting out of the shower, singing along to ‘The Righteous Brothers ‘ – “ You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling “ !

The sun was out first thing and  the sky was blue & cloudless, there is was very light breeze, keeping it ‘ Fresh & Crisp’ – by lunchtime it will reach 15 degs+ - still cold overnight, hovering on the 8/9 degs mark, as the week goes on we are in for more of the same, going warmer each day, by Thursday it’s forecast to be 20 degs+ - perfect for the time of the year, over the weekend it’s staying the same, next week is looking a little cooler as the breeze picks up, in the low/mid ‘ teens’ but still dry & sunny, with patchy clouds with just the possibility of the ‘ wet-stuff’ on the horizon, watch this space.

See below a ‘ Drone ‘ pictures of Estepona with the dome of the ‘ Orquidario – Orchid House ‘ in the foreground, this morning.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Cold Roast Loin of Pork’ with the leftover vegetables & potatoes, the ‘Pork’ was very tasty & succulent, we also enjoyed the classic ‘ Fondant Potatoes’ for a change, on Tuesday we are having a ‘ Casserole of Lamb Liver ‘ – then on Wednesday I’m making my famous ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Curry ‘ served with Brenda’s equally famous ‘ Basmati Rice ‘ – Thursday will be a ‘ Leftovers Day ‘ – Friday it’s going to be a ‘ Fish n’ Chip’ supper and on Saturday a ‘ Steak Night’ – next Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

Yesterday evening after watching the very gripping final episode in the series of ‘ Vera’ we then caught the remake of “ The Magnificent Seven” from 2016, with Denzel Washington in the ‘Yul Brynner’ role, with Chris Pratt & Ethan Hawke, not as good as the original, but then nothing could be!

Thoughts for the Day;   See above.
