A VERY COLD, WINDY & FRESH SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 14th/ FEBRUARY 2019.   “ ST VALENTINES DAY “

I was up very early this morning to welcome back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, we had a late, surprise, a ‘Facebook Message’ from Daniela last night asking us if we could have her for today, she’s now in her duvet, as usual, later this morning little ‘ Winnie’ – the Pug, is joining us for the first time, for a sleep-over, she will be collected later tomorrow afternoon, so ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ is open for business again!  ‘ Chispa’ has just called in to see all her friends Watch this space.

PS; She’s just arrived! ( Winnie ) She’s running around mad, chasing all her toys, she has her cage/bed with her, she sleeps all night with the cover over it!

After freshening up we had our usual light breakfast of fresh fruit, toast & tea, I’m feeling a lot better today, the aches & pains have gone and I’m feeling a little stronger, the toilet visits have also stopped and most importantly my appetite is slowly returning! Brenda has also been struggling with a bit of the same bug, at the same time, but is now also on the mend, watch this space.

This morning there is as stiff breeze blowing, bringing in a new cold ‘ Atlantic’ front, it still grey & overcast with dark clouds and very ‘Crisp’ – by lunchtime it will only reach 13/14 degs, tomorrow and over the weekend it’s staying the same, even getting a little more windy, with the threat of the ‘wet-stuff’ in the air, next week is not looking much better, staying cold, overcast with patchy clouds, lots of rain at times, hovering in the low/mid ‘ teens’ – very unseasonal! Watch this space.

On the menu front we are not going to ‘ Fancy’ at the moment, we had a special ‘ Valentines Menu’ planned, but we are now keeping things simple, tonight it’s now going to be ‘ Grilled Pork Loin Steak’ – accompanied with a creamy ‘Green Peppercorn’ Salsa, with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and Parsley New Potatoes, on Friday it will be ‘ Fish’n Chips’ and ‘Steak Night’ on Saturday, Sunday is still TBC, watch this space.

Tomorrow morning I will be out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, as usual, then on Monday morning I will be back down to rearrange the appointments at the main ‘Medical Centre’ for my monthly ‘V12’injection and to renew my ‘ Spanish Driving Licence’ – I’m also calling into our Bank to arrange a little outstanding business.

This morning I have just called the family lawyers ( Son & Daughter-in Law ) - of the house, to arrange/ask for a meeting to re-sign the yearly contract on the house, at the same time we will give them a long list of all our grievances & repairs, etc that are outstanding, watch this space.

We will be taking out little ‘ Winnie’ for her first walk later, to get her used  to the village life, it will also give us our first breath of fresh air for a few days, as we have been wrapped up in a blanket of the settee! ‘Darby & Joan’ style!

While we where out the ' Council' workmen were repairing, with the 'cherry-picker' - the new 'Street Canopy' after it being damaged by the wind, they used, for the first time, the new automatic street 'Bollards' to stop the traffic! See below.

We have been watching all the ‘ Quiz Shows’ that we follow and then channel hopping, over the coming weekend and next month, more return/new serials are starting, this evening it’s the second-part ‘Death in Paradise’ – it looks like one of the main characters has been shot dead?!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
