A ' FRESH' AND SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 8th/ FEBRUARY 2019.

I was up very early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I did the main shop in a very quiet ‘ Mercadona’ – I then called into the ‘English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers.

I then went to start the car to carry on with my travels, when there was a loud  ‘Clunck’ as I turned on the engine, it went dead, I called Pedro at the garage and he came down within ten minutes, sadly it’s the ‘ Starter Motor’ that’s gone! After a ‘ push-start’ by some locals I came back up to the house to unload, Pedro then carried on back to the garage with the car, watch this space.

I was going to the ‘ English Butchers’ in Puerto de la Duquesa Marina, then onto the local market at the far-end of the promenade for the fresh flowers & wall plants, finally stopping at ‘ Super Sol’  for the ‘ English’ essentials, and then I had my appointment at the main ‘Medical Centre’ for my ‘ V12’ injection, I will go back next week for another appointment, I will be back down at the start of next week for  the rest of the shopping, Brenda is going to walk down, later, to the local ‘Market’ in the village, down by the sports complex, for the flowers etc, also the limited edition ‘ Movie Clip Mug’ has just arrived in the ‘English Bookshop’ – it had not arrived when I called in earlier!

The sun was out as I drove down through the bare vine fields, they have burnt all the old leaves over the past couple of weeks, the sky was blue and cloudless, there is a light breeze still keeping it a little cooler in the shade, by lunchtime it will be 19 degs+ - over the weekend staying the same, sunny but ‘ crisp’ - next week is still looking similar, going a little colder as the breeze pick up by next weekend, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ – 15/17 degs, down to 9/10 degs during the night, with the possibility of the ‘ wet-stuff’ at times, watch this space.

See below the first ferry across the River Mersey from Seacombe and then the last one back from the Pier Head yesterday evening!

And this morning over in a ' Windy' Liverpool!

For our supper this evening we are having a ‘ treat’ – Grilled Fillets of Rodaballo – Turbot ‘ –  finished ‘ A La Meuniere’ style - the fishmonger took the four large fillets off the whole fish, we have put two away for another day, they will be served with ‘Parsley’ Baby New Potatoes in their Skins, Broccoli Florets & Garden Peas, a little Homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce on the side.

On Saturday it’s going to ‘ Grilled Filet Steaks’ with all the trimmings, then on Sunday we are ‘ Roasting’ – still TBC, watch this space.

Today we are taking things easy, relaxing and basically doing nothing, because we can, will watch the afternoon TV, later after supper channel hopping to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
