A ' FRESH' WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 27th/ FEBRUARY 2019.

I was up early again this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off along the coast road, past a sparkling Mediterranean, to the Hospital in Estepona for next appointment at the ‘ Physiotherapy Department ‘ – I found a spot to park at the top of the hill, just past the Hospital, I then had a Tea & Tostado in a small Bar ‘ Tikitapi’ –near the Hospital, when you walk into the Department, it’s all the same people everyday having various treatments, the  main Physiotherapist, Encarni, greets you, then the student that is looking after me, takes over, Irene, is very efficient and takes time with me, I’m back on Friday morning, first thing, before doing the weekly shopping back in Sabinillas.

Today we have a glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sun was bright, above the Mediterranean, the sky had cleared and was cloudless & blue, the breeze had dropped also, so it’s a perfect day to be out & about, by lunchtime it will reach 18 degs+ still overnight hovering on the 10 degs mark, tomorrow it’s going to be warmer, reaching 21 degs + then over the weekend we are in for more of the same, the breeze is staying down at the same time, sadly next week as a new front blows in from the Atlantic, on Tuesday, it’s going colder again, dropping back down to the mid ‘ teens’ – 14/15 degs! Watch this space.

When I returned I got this evenings supper on the go, a “ Beef & Vegetable Stew “  - I sweat-off the diced Onions, Shallots & Garlic, Carrots, Turnips, Leeks, Celery & Acelgas and Mushrooms, adding a good dash of ‘Lee & Perrins & Tabasco’ – along with a slug of Brenda’s Red Wine, as well as a large spoon of Tomato Frito, at the same time tossing the Diced Beef in seasoned flour and browning it off, before adding it to the pan, at the same time as a Rich Beef & Vegetable Stock, it’s then seasoned to taste and left to cook-off under the very able eye of the ‘ Second Chef’! We are having local Cabbage with Alselgas & sliced Baby Beetroots, with Parsley New Potatoes, tomorrow for “ Global Scouse Day “ I will add par-boiled Diced Potatoes to the stew, to cook-off and thicken up the Scouse! The ‘ Aromas’ are wafting upstairs, as I’m typing/posting today’s ‘Blog’!!

Last night after supper we settled down to watch the next episode of the excellent ‘ Shetland’ as the determined ‘ Detective’- ( Douglas Henshall)  with his assistant ‘ Tosh’ – ( Alison O’Donnell)  delves deep into the people-trafficking operation in Shetland & Glasgow,  the ‘Romanian Mafia’ who are behind the ‘ nasty’ stuff, are now threatening witnesses, including the Detectives daughter, a suicide of a suspect in custody, causes problems, a young girl tries to escape but is unlucky to be picked up by one of the leaders, a mystery lady, with a Tattoo, meanwhile other local characters in the tale have the usual problems of life, one of his best friends, wife, makes a pass at the Detective, which he dosn’t stop! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
