A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 12th / AUGUST 2018.

We all had a nice lie in this morning, ‘ Maisie’ on her towel and ‘Chico’ under the bed on the marble floor, after a quick freshen up we went out for our first walk of the day down to the ‘ Mirador’ on the shady side of the street, just as we leaving we had a call from Lucy to say that her dad would be collecting him  - so we sat in the bus stop at the bottom of the village until he came along, we love having ‘ Chico’ with us here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ He gets on with all the other dogs and is such good company. ‘Maisie’ is going home tomorrow afternoon, we are waiting to hear when ‘ Reina’ is back with us next week.

When we returned we had our usual light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, ( Nectarines ) toast & tea, to set us up for the day ahead. We are having an at home day, taking things very easy, keeping as cool as possible, drinking lots of cold water and relaxing, later Brenda is calling her sister Jenny on the ‘ Skype’ landline connection and then this evening ( 6-00 pm here) we have arranged a ‘ Skype’ video call with Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, for a good catch up with all their news, including their visit to the Alliston ‘ Potato Festival’ – the closest town to them, in the ‘ Heart’ of the potato country around where they live ?! Sounds like “ HEAVEN “ to me!!

This morning the sun has just broken through after a very hot night again, there is a very slight breeze, so in the shade it’s just bearable, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 31 degs+ at the start of next week it’s going to be hotter 33 degs+ then for the rest of the week and over next weekend it’s hovering on the 30 degs mark, overnight 22 degs+ - Watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having the ‘Marinated Spanish Lamb Chops & Cutlets ‘ – in Virgin Olive Oil, Lemon Juice & Tarragon Herbs – pan-seared, very quickly, on a very hot griddle plate, served with a small selection of fresh, local Vegetables and Baked Potato, for a change, not forgetting the Mint sauce!

During the day/afternoon we will be catching up with all the sport results; then later after supper we will be channel hopping to find something to watch, last night we caught a very good film, that we had not seen before “ Eye in the Sky “ from 2015, starring Helen Mirren, Alan Rickman ( his last film ) & Aaron Paul – a British thriller, explores the ethical challenges of drone warfare, very interesting and exciting, with a gripping end.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
