A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 6th/ AUGUST 2018.

We had a little lie in this morning as we are ‘ doogy-free’ just for the one night, this evening ‘Maisie’ is arriving for her week’s holiday with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – we are still waiting to hear when little princess ‘ Reina’ is back with us this week, meanwhile ‘ Chispa’ is in & out all the time, before she goes on her holiday’s down to the family ‘ Campo’ On Saturday evening ‘ Chico’ is back for a one-night sleep-over.

For our breakfast this morning, to set us up for the week ahead, I made my famous ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of strong ‘ PG’ Tips tea. On Tuesday evening we have our appointments down at the local surgery with the ‘ Chiropodist’ – on Friday morning I will be out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, - no ‘ Festivals’ this week in sunny Manilva, so far!

In the ‘ Plaza de la Vendemia’ the ‘ Council’ workmen have started the work ( on Friday) on the ‘Mural’ wall, they have cleaned all the old `plaster away and are now preparing the surface to place the new ‘ Mosaic Mural’ Wall Tiles up! Watch this space.

Overnight we had another ‘ hot-one’ – this morning the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue, we are in for a very & sunny week, down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ It’s still very close & clammy, as there is only a very light breeze, by lunchtime it will be 33 degs+ overnight hovering in the mid 20s! The rest of week is staying the same, getting a little hotter at times, next week on the forecasts it’s showing it a little cooler with patchy clouds at times, watch this space.

See below the sunrise over ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa’ this morning.

This week over in Liverpool it’s the rare opportunity to view the ‘ Minton Tiled’ floor ( 30,000 ) in St George’s Hall ( grade 1 listed) to celebrate the ‘ Biennial ‘ Arts festival, see below the pictures of the floor and the spectacular building,  in all it’s glory, my favourite historic building in the great city! Back in the mid 60s, when I was the Manager of the “ Stork Hotel’ in Queens square, my flat over-looked St John’s Gardens, behind the Hall. ‘Happy Days & Memories’

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Pan-Seared Escalope’s of Chicken Breast’ – finished in a Balsamic & Lime Butter salsa, with whole ‘ French ‘ Green Beans and the classic ‘ Rissoles’ potatoes, partially cooked diced potatoes tossed in foaming butter until crisp & brown all over! The rest of the week we are taking one day at the time, on the menu front, as normal on Thursday evening it’s the ‘ Head Chef & Staff’ night –off, so will be out & about in ‘Calle Mar’ for cool drinks and a light ‘ Tapas’ supper, watch this space.

This afternoon/evening we will catch up with all the ‘ Quiz’ shows that we follow ‘ Countdown, Tipping Point, The Chase, Pointless, Eggheads etc’ – later we will channel hop to find something to watch, as at the moment there are no new series to follow.
