We had a nice lie in this morning after
another very hot & sticky night, for all of us, ‘Maisie’ spent the night on
her towel, as usual and got up as we did, she then waits very patiently as we freshen
up, we took her for her first walk of the day, down to the ‘ Mirador’ – on the
shady side of the street, this morning there is no breeze so it’s very close
& clammy, she is due to be collected just after lunch today by her Dad,
Brian, who is returning from the UK, she is looking forward to run on the beach
by where she lives, we will miss her terribly as she’s such great company and a
very loving ‘ Lady’!
PS; ‘ Chispa’ has just called in to say
goodbye.
PPS; Little princess ‘ Reina’ is back with
us tomorrow morning.
When we returned we had our usual light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit toast & tea, to start the day off in the right direction, tomorrow I’m popping along to the local Bank in ‘ Calle Mar’ to pay the electricity bill and get some cash, as on Wednesday morning we are going across to Estepona, for some retail shopping for Brenda and so I can go to my Hairdresser, Manuel, for the full works, on Thursday I have to go down to the main ‘Medical Centre’ in Sabinillas to make an appointment for my 4 weekly ‘V12’ Injection, finally on Friday morning I will be out on my travels, back down to Sabinillas, braving the holiday hordes, for the weekly shopping.
NB; We have just noticed that Wednesday is a 'National Bank Holiday' here in Spain for " Assumption Day " - so we are changing our Wednesday/Thursday' plans around!
This morning the sun has broken through
earlier and the sky is already bright blue, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 34
degs+ with the same again tomorrow, then for the rest of the week and over the
weekend it’s going a little cooler, hovering in the low 30s, with a very light
breeze, next week is going to be very hot & sunny, basically the same as
this week, watch this space.
See below a picture of our friends Kevin
& Caroline in front of “ Checkpoint Charlie “ in Berlin, last week, with
the postcard that is on the way to us! Thanks!!
Just a quick update on the football results
from the weekend; Everton drew 2-2, Liverpool won 4-0 & Manchester City won
0-2, Barcelona beat Sevilla in the ‘ Spanish Super Cup’ 2-1!
For our supper this evening we are keeping
things very simple, again, we are having ‘ Grilled Chicken Fillets’ finished in
a Lemon & Balsamic Vinegar salsa, garnished with seared Button Mushrooms,
with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and Baked Potatoes, the rest of week,
on the menu front we are taking it one day at the time, as usual, at this time
of year we are out on Thursday for our supper as it’s the ‘ Head Chef’s &
Staff’ night-off!
We are in our full ‘ Summer Mode’ taking
things very easy, keeping a cool as possible, drinking lots of cold water,
relaxing, with all the fans on, we will be back to watching all the ‘ Quiz’
shows that we follow, ’Countdown, Impossible, Tipping Point, The Chase &
University Challenge ‘
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
