A CLOUDY & MISTY SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 3rd/ AUGUST 2018.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas after finding my way down to the underground car park, at the bottom of the village, as the whole of sunny Manilva was covered in a thick ‘ Sea-Mist’ – it was down to 20 yards visibility on the way down, Sabinillas was the same! It made it also very close & clammy, I had a quick toast & tea in ‘ itZabar’ before ‘ Mercadona opened, it was very busy as the ‘ August-Spanish’ month holiday has started, as well as all the foreign holidaymakers!

Meanwhile back up in the village Brenda made her way down to the ‘Mirador’ with ‘Lex Baby’ for her first walk of the day, she spent the night downstairs on the settees, before coming up to the bedroom this morning, she’s a little lost, with no other dogs here to play with. ‘ Chispa’  has just called in to see us, she’s had her ‘ summer trim’ – so they are making friends.

After doing the main shop in ‘ Mercadona’ I walked along to the ‘English Book Shop’ for the local newspapers, I then went along to the local market at the far end of the promenade for the fresh flowers & wall plants, on the way back I called into ‘ Super Sol’ for the ‘ English’ essentials, before shooting back up the hill, still clouded in a light sea mist, to unload back at the house. Everywhere is very busy, there are no parking spaces anywhere, the traffic is non-stop, you have to wait, a long time at all the roundabouts/junctions to get out.

Back in the village it’s all go, the Council’ workmen are finishing the flood lighting along ‘Call Mar’ – the four large stages have the ‘Sound & Lighting’ technicians working on them, all the Bars (6) have their temporary bars in place.

Meanwhile in the ‘ Plaza de la Vendimia’ they have started the work on the main wall, by taking down the old plaster, before putting up the new ‘Manilva Mosaic Wine Mural’ - in time for the ‘ Vendimia Wine Festival’ at the start of September.

At the moment the sun has not broken through, it’s just starting to thin out, hopefully by lunchtime it will be clear & sunny, reaching 28 degs, on the local forecast, tomorrow it will be back to normal, warm & sunny, as well on Sunday, next week is looking hotter, going up into the mid 30s, over night hovering in the low to mid 20s, inland they are forecasting the hottest temperatures on record,48 degs+! On two of the forecasts it’s showing patchy clouds at times, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Tail-Ends of Salmon Fillet’ – accompanied with a sauceboat of ‘Hollandaise’ sauce, with Garden Peas & Parsley New Potatoes, tomorrow evening we are going along to ‘ Bar Castillo’ to base ourselves for the evening, for the “ Noche Del Embrujo “ -  at the centre of all the stages, we will have a light ‘Tapas’ supper along with our cold drinks, in glasses!  On Sunday evening we are having our ‘ Steak Night’- we have a large ‘ Rib of Beef’ - on the bone, which well be having with all the trimmings, as well as twice-cooked ‘ Chips’!

This evening after supper we will be channel hopping to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
