A VERY CLOSE & NOW SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 11th/ AUGUST 2018.

Just a little lie in this morning, after another very hot & clammy night for all of us, ‘ Maisie’ goes straight to her towel/rug on the floor and spends all night there, in the morning I have to wake her up! She is such a gentle dog, very tranquil, she now comes and sits on Brenda’s knees, for a love, before joining us on the settee, she also gets on with ‘ Chispa’ when she calls in and now ‘ Chico’ who arrived this morning for his sleep over.

After freshening up, at this time of the year even the cold water runs warm! We went out for our first walk of the day, down to the ‘ Mirador’ – no need to keep in the shade as it was overcast & misty, despite a breeze blowing up from the Mediterranean, when we returned Brenda was on duty in the kitchen, for her famous ‘Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast’ with mugs of tea, Scrambled on brown toast for her.

Brenda then popped along to the Chemists in ‘Calle Mar’ for some of our prescription tablets, both the dogs have settled down, ‘Chico’ has not brought his normal two beds, as he sleeps on the marble floor at this time of the year. He’s just gone missing, we called him and he didn’t appear, we went all around the house, over the three floors, with no sign of him, shouting all the time, he turned up under the bed in the main guest bedroom and wouldn’t come out! They are both now at my feet in the office/studio as I’m typing/posting today’s Blog!!

As I said above, this morning has started a little overcast, despite the breeze, it’s forecast to stay partly cloudy, but still hovering on the 30 degs+ mark, with the sun breaking through at times, tomorrow is the same but on Monday, at the start of the week, its’ due to go up to 34 degs+! – Tuesday even hotter, then it’s going to drop down a little, back to the 30s/high 20s Watch this space.

See the beach, first thing this morning, before the hordes, down in ‘ San Luis De Sabinillas’ - to give it it’s full name!

At lunchtime after our walk with both of the dogs we called into ' Bar Castillo' for a cool drink, as well as some cold water for the dogs using ' Chico's' portable bowl, we also had some nice ' Tapas' sat in the shade.

Yesterday evening as we were watching the ‘ European Athletics Championships’ from the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, as the final of the Men’s 1500 metres, in front of 45,000 spectators and worldwide on the TV, closed the day’s events, our friends, from Brighton, Kevin & Caroline, were cheering on their youngest son, Charlie Grice, who  was taking part, on the final lap he was running second, with just 50 yards to go, looking to pass the leading runner, only to be caught and passed himself, to finish 5th! So close but so far!! He has another chance in the ‘Indoor Finals & the World Championships’ - watch this space.

See below a picture of him competing in another race!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks’ seared on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare – Pink, no blood’ – then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushroom, with Whole Green Beans & twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – served with the classic ‘ Bearnaise’ sauce.

I will be later marinating tomorrows ‘ Spanish Lamb Chops & Cutlets’ in a Virgin Olive Oil, Lemon Juice & Tarragon Herb Marinade!

On the sports front this weekend; over in the UK the ‘Premier League’ kicks off as Everton travel down the M6 to play newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, tomorrow Liverpool are at home to West Ham United and Manchester City are down in London to play Arsenal.

We will catch up with the football later as well as all the news, when we will be channel hopping to find something to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
