A STILL OVERCAST, BUT LATER GOING A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY

WEDNESDAY 15th/ AUGUST 2018.   “ ASSUMPTION OF MARY DAY “

We had a nice long lie in this morning as the village is quieter than normal as it’s a ‘ National Bank Holiday ‘ here in Spain for the “ Assumption of Mary Day “ – one of the main religious festivals of the year.

After freshening up we treated ourselves to ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs of tea, to set us up for the day ahead, we are also taking things very easy, doing nothing, because we can, for the rest of the day.

Here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ we are very quiet at the moment, with only little princess ‘ Reina’ with us for one/two days as week, as usual ‘ Chispa’ is in and out all the time, as she has not gone on her holidays yet! Next week we have a new dog coming to see us, a miniature ‘Pincher’ who could be staying with us at the start of September for a three-week holiday, watch this space.

See below some pictures from “ The Grooming Room ‘ down in Sabinillas where lots of our guests are groomed, ‘Maisie’ was in yesterday after her holiday with us and ‘ Scruffy’ – who is due back a little later this year, was also in for the ‘ full-works’!

Due to the Bank Holiday we are now going across to Estepona tomorrow morning, Brenda is going retail-shopping and I’m going to my Hairdresser, Manuel, for the full works, style, trim, cut, wash & blow dry, dry shave & scalp massage! On Friday morning, early, as usual, I’m out on my travels, down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, braving the holiday hordes! Watch this space.

Today has started the same as yesterday, a little overcast with patchy clouds, it’s very close & clammy as the breeze has dropped overnight, it was another very sticky night, with not much sleep, the sun is due to brake though later and it will then be back to being very hot & sunny, yesterday it ended up at one time on the 37 degs mark! Over the next couple of days and over the weekend we are in for more of the same, going a little cooler, as the breeze returns, next week is still forecast to be partly cloudy with patchy to moderate rain at times, but still hovering in the low 30s, so the rain will be warm?! Very unseasonal for the time of the year, watch this space.

This evening we going ‘out & about’ down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – unusual for us at this time of the year, we are first going down to ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa’ to ‘La Taberna 2’ as Mano & Anna, who we have not seen for long time, are being treated to dinner by their son Carlos, who is the ‘Restaurant Manager’- as it’s Anna’s 70th birthday, we think, as she dosn’t ‘do’ birthdays?! We are taking a small cake/candle, anyway, as on Brenda’s 70th Birthday celebrations, Sally-Ann, their daughter made Brenda a very special cake, when Jack & Lyn, Norah & Jenny joined us! We are then carrying on to find somewhere to have a nice supper, after finding a parking place, as near as possible to the ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’- watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
