I was up first this morning and after a
quick freshen up I shot off down to the main ‘ Medical Centre’ in Sabinillas to
make an appointment with the Nurse for my monthly ‘ B12’ Injection, I was
fitted in for 10-40 am later this morning, so I came back up to the house for
our regular ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea, before shooting back down!
Brenda took ‘ Paddy ‘ out for his first
walk of the day, we take him out at lunchtime, then just before supper and then
last thing at night, around the block, he loves going out and does high jumps
& somersaults when we reach for his lead! He’s sleeping very well, all night
on our bed, at the foot in between our feet, in the morning he crawls up for
his cuddle, he now jumps on the seat in the kitchen when we are cooking, when
we are watching the TV he moves between us both, on our knees, and he follows
me up to the office/studio when I’m typing/posting the Blog.
When I came back from Sabinillas the ‘
Second Chef’ had prepared all the ingredients for me to make my famous ‘
Ensaladilla Rusa – Russian Salad ‘ – boiled Potatoes & Eggs, cooked Baby
Carrots & Garden Peas, as well as the Tuna & Red Pimento, I dice the Potatoes
into small cubes, chop the Carrots & Red Pimentos, flake up the Tuna &
crush the hard boiled ‘Campo’ Eggs, all seasoned – then all the ingredients are
tossed in a large salad bowl with the Mayonnaise, it’s a ‘ Classic ‘ Russian
Salad’ with taste & texture.
We have another beautiful day down here on
the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue, there
is just a very slight breeze, making it perfect to be out & about, by
lunchtime it’s due to reach 27 degs+ - the rest of the week and over the
weekend gets warmer each day, by Sunday into the mid 30s at times! Watch this space.

Next week is going to be a ‘ hot-one’ –
leading up to Brenda’s special ‘ Birthday’ ( 75!) - a week on Friday, we have
no plans at the moment, we will plan something nearer the time, I have given
her a few options, watch this space.
The menus for the week have been agreed;
this evening we are having ‘ Minute Steaks’ – smeared with Dijon Mustard, then
flashed on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Rare ‘ – garnished with seared Button
Mushrooms and topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg,
accompanied with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘
Frits’ – on Wednesday it’s going to be ‘Pan-Seared Lambs Liver’ with crispy
Smoked Bacon and Grilled English Pork Sausages, Thursday we are having Cold
Smoked Ham & Russian Salad, then on Friday, for a change, I’m going to make
my version of the classic ‘ Fish Pie’ – Saturday, as usual it’s ‘ Steak Night ‘
and then on Sunday it’s still TBC, watch this space.
This evening before supper we are walking
down to the local surgery as we have our appointments with the ‘ Council
Chiropodist ‘ – we go to see her every couple of months, it’s free for
Pensioners!
After supper we will be channel hopping to
find something to watch.
