A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 18th/ JUNE 2018.

We all had a nice, long, lie in this morning, after another hot night, ‘Paddy’ started on our bed then went down on the marble floor before joining us again this morning, he’s got company on Tuesday as little princess ‘Reina’ is back with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ and on Wednesday, ‘Chispa’ is also crashing in & out as normal.

Yesterday evening we had a surprise call on the ‘ Facebook’ messenger video link, from Paddy’s mum, Eileen, over in Seattle, Washington State, USA, where she is staying with her family, ‘Paddy’ joined us on my knee to see his mum, he didn’t take his eyes off the screen, it looks like he is typing, as his front paws rest on the key-board! He’s settled in very well and is just as he is always, after speaking to Eileen, he is real character and we have fallen for him, it turns out that he was a ‘ rescue-dog’ when Eileen found him, in a terrible state.

See him below ‘Paddy’ on ‘ Internet’ duty!

We took him out for his first walk of the day, after a quick freshen up, Brenda called into the local sub-post office to send 3 post cards, watch out it could be you ( Spain, France & Canada!)  Outside the Town Hall, in our street they are taking down the rest of the scaffolding. When we returned we had our normal light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit ( the first of the local Nectarines) toast & tea ,before getting another week on the go , down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – well somebody has to do it – it’s called being ‘ retired’!

See below the " Casa Blanca - Town Hall " this lunchtime!

For the start of the week the sun was out early and the sky was bright blue as we set off on our walk, there is a slight breeze keeping it just right, not too hot, for now, by lunchtime it will be 26 degs+ - overnight hovering on 19/20 degs, - the rest of the week and over the weekend is staying the same, warm, hot & sunny in the high 20s, low 30s at times, next week is going to be a ‘ hot-one’, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Chicken n’ Chips’ – like in the old days – in the ‘ Basket ‘! Each day we will sort out the ‘menu of the day’ – keeping things as simple as possible, watch this space.

We have no appointments this week, on Friday morning I will be out, first thing, on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, we have then given the ‘ Head Chef & Staff’ the day off, as we will be out & about celebrating the 75th Birthday of the ‘ Second/ Vegetable Chef’ – at lunchtime we are staying local, for a nice cool drink and some Tapas, then in the evening we are going up to ‘Venta Garcia’  -in the next valley on the way up to Casares, one of our old favourites, for supper, watch this space.

Last night, after all the sport over the weekend, we caught the next episode of “ Poldark” – just, as we had a major, short, power-cut in the village for the last few minutes! The death of the poor, swooning poet, ‘Demelza’ was heartbroken,  a new career for Ross ( the Rt Hon MP!) and the randy, toe sucking, Vicar at his best, after he had ‘ debauched ‘ his wife’s sister, as well as a bit of  man-wrestling, Cornish style, for good measure! The ‘ Doctor’s wife is pregnant, the ‘ nasty baddie’ George and his now conspiring wife, Elizabeth, got their comeuppance, it’s all going to happen up in London next week, with different threats watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
