I was up first thing this morning and after
a quick freshen up I shot off on my mini-travels down to Sabinillas to go to
the main ‘Medical Centre’ to book an appointment for a blood test for Brenda,
later in the week, I then popped into a very busy ‘ Mercadona’ – the Spanish
schools closed this week, for over ten weeks, there was a queue of mainly foreign
holidaymakers, waiting outside as it opened! I then picked up a birthday card
from the ‘ English Bookshop’ before shooting back up the hill through the ever
growing vine fields.
Back at the house Brenda and ‘Paddy’ had a
little lie in, he slept all night under the bed on the marble floor and only
came out and joined us on the bed when the alarm went off! Brenda then took him
for his first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village, at the start
of his fourth week of his holidays, with us, here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ –
he’s due for a shower & shampoo one day this week, also he’s expecting a
video call from his Mum over in the USA, little princess ‘ Reina’ is back with
us on Wednesday/ Thursday for the day, watch this space.
We then had ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butties’-
smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, as usual, open on brown for Brenda, with mugs
of steaming tea, despite it being the hottest morning/day of the year, so far! We
have no plans/appointments this week, so far, on Friday morning I will be out
on my travels, down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, when Brenda is
joining me, as she has her blood tests etc first thing in the morning at the
main ‘ Medical Centre’ Watch this space.
Overnight it was very hot & sticky,
hovering on the 19/20 degs+ mark, this morning it was already very hot &
sunny as I set off, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 31 degs+! The rest of the
week and over the coming weekend we are in for a ‘ hot-one’ hovering in the low
to mid 30s, at times, next week it’s going to be even hotter, watch this space.
We have just come off the ‘ Skype’ video
after a quick chat/catch up with Tim, over in Old Colwyn, North Wales, they
have very hot weather also, in the high 20s, for them that’s hot, they are all
very well, as Jo sets off to South America with a girlfriend (from North Wales)
- from Madrid, via Lisbon, Ben is about to leave on his trip to Thailand, with
his mates, meanwhile down in London Tim’s son Simon and his wife, are adjusting
to the arrival of their baby daughter.
PS; Your card arrived in the post today, thanks !

Just a quick update on the sports results;
Lewis Hamilton won the ‘ French Grand Prix ‘ Cilic beat Djokovic in the final
at ‘Queen’s Club ‘ in the Tennis, next week it’s the start of Wimbledon, and
over in Russia, at the ‘World Cup’ – ENGLAND beat Panama – 6-1, with Harry Kane
scoring a hat-trick!
For our supper this evening we are having,
for a change, ‘ Pan-Seared Flattened Turkey Breasts’ – cooked in foaming Lime
Butter, accompanied with a creamy Mushroom salsa, with all the leftover
vegetables and the rest of the ‘Breton’ style potatoes, the rest of the week we
are taking one day at the time as we plan the ‘Menu of the Day’ Watch this
space.
Last night after supper we settled down to
watch the next episode of “ Poldark” as he set off up to London to take his
seat in Parliament, Demelza was left at home with the children, the farm and
the mine to look after! The Doctor, and his posh wife, had a baby daughter, but
the good Doctor has spotted something wrong with her! ( Spots, Rash )?! The bad
guy has met up with another rogue and is already planning more mayhem,
meanwhile Ross dashed back from London as the Mine has a major problem, he didn’t
fall into Demelza’s arms until near the end of the episode, oh and the randy
Vicar is toe-sucking his wife’s sisters toes, again! Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
