A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 24th/ JUNE 2018.

We had another nice lie in this morning as the village is even quieter than normal after all the festivities & celebrations for the ‘Noche de San Juan & Flamenco Concert ‘

See the pictures below as the bonfire tableau went up in flames!

The ' Council '

The ' Fireworks' display.

And the ' clean-up ' this morning!

‘Paddy’ slept most of the night on his rug and on the marble floor before this morning when he joined me, on my side of the bed, for his ‘cuddles’ Brenda was up first and left us sleeping! So she took him for his first walk of the day as I was freshening myself up, when they returned we had our usual light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea, ’Chispa’ is calling in everyday, as usual, to see us and her new friend.

It’s another glorious day here in a very hot & sunny Manilva and down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – today  the sun was out early and the sky is clear & bright blue, there is still, thankfully, a slight breeze, keeping it just bearable, for now, by lunchtime it’s going to be 28 degs+ - next week we are in for a very hot week, on all the forecasts, hovering on the 30 degs+ mark, going even hotter at times! The overnight temperatures are also creeping up, into the low 20s, watch this space.

As you can see below the first of the holiday makers have arrived!

Just a quick update on the sports news; Lewis Hamilton is on the pole position at the ‘ French Grand Prix’ at the ‘Paul Ricard Circuit’ outside Marseille, ‘Royal Ascot’ finished with flourish, it’s ‘ Finals Day’ in the Tennis over in the UK, meanwhile in Russia at the ‘ World Cup Football’ at lunchtime England play Panama in a ‘ must-win’ match! I also caught the ‘ International Rugby Union ‘ as Scotland beat Argentina, England beat South Africa and Ireland beat Australia( sorry to all the family!) as Johnny Sexton and his trusted ‘ boot ‘ kicked them to their first series victory in Australia in 39 years!

See below the latest picture showing the new’  Estepona Hospital ‘ shooting up.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Pan-Seared Medallions of Pork Fillet’ accompanied with a creamy ‘ Green Peppercorn Salsa ‘ with glazed Carrot Batons, Whole ‘French’ Green Beans & my special ‘ Breton’ style Potatoes, par-boiled, then diced and tossed in foaming Butter with diced Onions, Red, Green & Yellow Peppers. Next week we are taking things one day at the time on the menu front.

Speaking of next week we have no plans, so far, except on Monday morning when I’m out on my 'mini- travels' down to Sabinillas, first to the main’ Medical Centre’ to arrange an appointment for Brenda for a blood test, as she has her review/check-up with the ‘ Kidney Consultant’ at the start of July, over at the ‘ Costa Del Sol Hospital’  Then I’m calling into the ‘English Bookshop’ for an important birthday card, before popping into ‘ Mercadona’ for a couple things that I missed on Friday ( I blame the heat!)

Last night after supper we settled down to watch the next episode of the Welsh police crime drama  “ Hidden “ with all it’s twists & turns ( with sub-titles) as the killer went even more off his head!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
