I was up very early this morning to welcome
back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, as usual she shot upstairs into her
duvet, ‘ Paddy’ stayed on our bed and continued his little lie in, as we did!
After freshening up we shot out for the first walk of the day, before it gets
too hot, around the bottom of the village, when we returned I made ‘ Toasted
Sausage Butties’ smother in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with
mugs of strong tea. We then prepared the shopping list for tomorrow morning
when I’m out on my travels down to Sabinillas.
We have also agreed the arrangements for
Brenda’s ‘75th’ Birthday celebrations next Friday, we have given the
‘ Head Chef’ and all the staff the day off, at lunchtime we are staying local
for an ‘ al fresco’ ‘Tapas’ lunch & drinks, then in the evening I have
booked a table at ‘ Venta Garcia’ – one of our old favourites, that we have not
visited for a while, they have an outside bar/patio area, which is just perfect
for this time of the year, the food is always top class also!
We had arranged to meet a lady with her
dog, with a view to him joining us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – she got a little
lost but eventually found our house, Sally, who works in Gibraltar, has a
beautiful, very large, ‘ White’ Labrador/Cross called ‘ Bear ‘! He’s a gentle
giant and ‘Paddy’ was all-right with him, as well as ‘Chispa’ – ‘ Reina’ didn’t
bother with him! We are thinking about it, as he’s a bit of a hard-puller,

Overnight we had the hottest night of the
year so far, it was at times ‘ sticky’ to say the least, 20 degs+ - by
lunchtime it was very hot, the hottest day so far, reaching at the moment 29/30
degs+! We have started to get all the fans out in the lounge, kitchen, bedroom,
chill-out room and in the office/studio!! Over the weekend it’s going just a
little cooler, then next week we are in for a ‘ hot-one’ with the temperatures
hovering in the high 20s, watch this space.
This afternoon the ‘ World Cup ‘ starts
over in Russia, the first game that we will be watching is tomorrow when Spain
play Portugal!
For
our supper this evening we are having cold ‘Smoked Ham’( sliced) with the Russian Salad, on Friday it’s my
famous ‘ Fish Pie ‘ – then on Saturday it’s ‘ Steak Night ‘ – on Sunday I will
pick up a ‘ Roast Chicken’ from the local “ Rotisserie “ in ‘Calle Mar’
Yesterday lunchtime we made contact with the
‘ Moffatts’ - Tim & Thea - over in
Old Colwyn, North Wales, on the ‘ Skype’ video, their first news was that Tim’s
first son Simon, has had a baby daughter, born on Wednesday, mother and baby
are fine! In two weeks time Jo, their daughter who lives and works in Madrid,
teaching English is leaving to go on a ‘back-packing’
trip to South America with her girl friend from North Wales, they fly via Portugal
and then on to Brazil, Colombia & Peru! The sad news was that their dog ‘ Jasper’
has passed way. They both very well and looking forward to returning to Mojacar
in September! Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
