A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 16th/ JUNE 2018.

We all had a little lie in this morning, last night was not as hot as the night before, we were also better prepared, the fan was on and only a light sheet on the bed, ‘Paddy’ slept all night, this morning he’s full of beans, as usual, Brenda took him for his first walk of the day, as I stayed in the house, so as not to miss the gas-bottle delivery man to exchange our old bottle ( the price had dropped!) ‘Chispa’ has already called in this morning, as usual, she is in & out all the time, we have decided not to have ‘ Bear ‘- the gentle giant, as he was just a bit too much for us to look after, his ‘ pull’ was just a little too much for me to handle!

See below ‘ Paddy’ this morning ‘ on-guard ‘ in the lounge!

When Brenda returned she treated me to her famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast, boiled with toast-fingers for Brenda, with mugs of strong tea, the perfect start to the day.

This morning we were awoken by the sound of the scaffolding on the front of the Town Hall being taken down, it comes down quicker than it goes up! They are now taking down the side scaffolding in our street, the Town Hall has been repainted all White, with no colour on the window sills, I’ve named it the “ White House “ – as you can see below.

We have another glorious day here in sunny Manilva, the sun was out first thing and as you can see in the pictures below the sky is bright blue, there is just a slight breeze, so it’s very pleasant to be out & about, by lunchtime it will be 25 degs+ down to 19 degs over night, tomorrow is the same and then next week we are in for a week of hot sunshine, clear skies and a light breeze, hovering in the high 20s, the following week is going to be even hotter, watch this space.

On the sports front this weekend we will be channel hopping and watching the ‘World Cup’ in Russia(4 games today) – the ‘ International Rugby Union’( 4 matchs) – Jonny Sexton is back!( he’s kicked 4 pens all ready!)  The famous “ Le Mans “ 24 hr Race with Fernando Alonso going for a win, various Cycling around Europe including the ‘ Woman’s Tour’ over in the UK which finishes in Colwyn Bay tomorrow! Over in America it’s the ‘ US Open Golf ‘ – and finally it’s ‘Royal Ascot ‘ next week, watch this space.

Last night’s ‘World Cup’ Football over in Sochi, as Portugal played Spain, was a classic encounter, as Ronaldo scored a sensational hat-trick, while Spain scored three brilliant individual goals to end up with a 3-3 draw, in what is being called the ‘ Game ‘ of the 21st century! Both teams played football as is should be played!!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet Steaks ‘ – seasoned and cooked ‘ Med-Rare’ on a very hot griddle-plate, then left to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears, Button Mushrooms & Shallots, accompanied with Whole ‘ French ‘ Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – Dijon Mustard & the classic ‘Bearnaise’ sauce on the side.

On Sunday we have ordered a Roast Chicken from the local ‘ Rotisserie ‘ in Calla Mar’ – which we will have with a ‘ Mixed Salad’ and Baked Potato.

This evening, as you will have guessed, we will be channel hopping, last night after supper we watched Episode 6 of the Swedish/Danish police drama “ The Bridge “ ( with sub-titles)  as who is ‘ Tommy’ was revealed! ( in a flash-back) – an informant, who was killed in the end when he was let down by the police ( Henrick) – the wheelchair guy is the informants son,  his mother is now under suspicion, as well as the creepy mother of the informant, another guy was shot at point-blank range, another execution, by firing squad, by an unknown assailant?!  Henrick was then investigating another lead and discovered a body of a girl, hanging off a door, when he was staked by a hooded gun man and a gunshot in a darkened house rang out, is our beloved character dead, where is ‘ Saga’ while all this is happening?! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
