A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF A ' HELLUVA' WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 22 nd / JUNE 2018.     “ BRENDA’S 75th BIRTHDAY “

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, I had a quick toast & tea in ‘ itsZabar’ before ‘ Mercadona’ opened, this morning it was busy as the holiday business is starting to appear, 7 check-outs open, normally 2! I then collected the local newspapers from the ‘ English Bookshop’ before going along to the far end of the promenade to the local market for some wall plants and this morning a nice bunch of ‘Pink Lilies’ for Brenda, her favourite.

After un-loading back at the house I put the car away in the garage until later, on the way back up to the house I called into our local sub-post office and the very friendly postman found all the ‘Birthday Cards’ for Brenda – ‘ RESULT ‘  Thanks to all the family in Canada, Australia & the UK, also a post-card from Jeff & Annette from their visit to Niagara Falls, they are at the moment in the ‘ air’ as they fly back from Edmonton to Brisbane!

See below the cards & flowers!

NB; Today is also our dear friend Donna’s Birthday over in the Wirral – “ Happy Birthday – Feliz Cumpleaños “

‘ Cheers ‘ !!

Brenda had taken ‘ Paddy ‘ for his first walk of the day while I was out on my travels, he slept most of the night on the marble floor under the bed, then joined us this morning for his cuddle, while I was out I popped into the ‘Chinese Bazaar’ for a small ball for him to play with, he loves going out and when it’s time to come home, he dosn’t want to!

I then made for the ‘ Birthday Girls’ breakfast her favourite ‘ Campo’ Scrambled Eggs on Toast, topped with Smoked Salmon, we are having a nice chilled bottle of Cava at lunchtime, before we go out, along to ‘ Bar Castillo’ for a light ‘Tapas’ lunch and a cool drink.

This morning, after a very hot night, the sun was out first thing and the sky was already bright blue, as I set off, with just a very slight breeze, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 27/28 degs+ - over the weekend we are in for more of the same, next week is looking to be even hotter in the high 20s, low 30s, watch this space.

See below the Bay of Colwyn, North Wales, last night after the long sunset.

At lunchtime we are expecting a ‘ Skype’ video call from Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, before they go off to work! While we were speaking to Sandra, Brenda's mobile went off, it was the Florist from 'Puerto de la Duquesa' telling us that she was just about to deliver a bunch of flowers from Sandra !  It's a small World !!  " THANK YOU "  !!

This afternoon we will catch up with all the sports news before getting ourselves ready to go out later this evening, we are calling into the ‘Casares Golf Club’ for a nice glass of chilled Cava , on our way up the valley to ‘ Venta Garcia’ for supper, watch this space for the pictures of the ' Birthday Girl' this evening!

PS, Just a reminder when you are reading today’s Blog to carry on and check-out yesterdays Blog, again, as most days I add/update it with more news/pictures!
