A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.

SUNDAY 27th / MAY 2018.

We had yet another long lie in this morning, as we are at the moment rather quiet in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ – next week ‘ Reina’ is back with us on Tuesday & Wednesday, on Monday little ‘ Paddy’ is coming to see us and bringing some of his stuff with him, as he’s due to arrive for his two-month holiday the following Monday.

Next week I have my appointment with the ‘Trauma Consultant’ over at the local Hospital in Estepona, on Wednesday afternoon, for an diagnosis/review/check up on my ‘dodgy’ left hand, watch this space. On Tuesday morning Brenda has her appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, for her check-up/review.

On Friday I will be out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, as usual, otherwise we have a quiet week here in ‘ ‘Casa Sexton’

After breakfast this morning of ‘Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea I prepared, with the help of the ‘ Second/Vegetable Chef ‘ – the ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes for this evening supper, layers of seasoned sliced Potatoes & Onions, each layer(3) of the potatoes hand-cut & sliced thinner, with greater difficulty, due to the ‘ dodgy left-hand! The dish is then topped up with a rich ‘Chicken, Meat & Vegetable’ stock, ready to go in the oven this evening, half-way through cooking the top is dotted with knobs of Butter, then placed back in the oven to crisp & brown up!

The ‘Spanish Lamb Steaks’ have been marinated over night, in Sea Salt, Black Peppercorns, Rosemary & Virgin Olive Oil, they will be then pan-seared on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Pink’ this evening, at the last moment, then placed on top of the ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes to let the juices run down! The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ has meanwhile prepared Glazed Carrot Batons, Whole French Green Beans, Creamed Leeks, Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three Cheese sauce & Garden Peas, not forgetting the savoury ‘ Mint Sauce’!

This morning the sun was out early and the sky cleared, as there is a light breeze blowing, by lunchtime it will be, as forecast, 23 degs+ - next week is now looking settled, dry & sunny, with a few clouds at times, by the weekend going a little warmer, hovering on the 26/27 degs+ mark, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the sports results, so far; Lewis Hamilton is on 3rd position on the grid over at ‘Grand Prix of Monaco ‘ later this afternoon, – Chris Froome increased his overall lead in the ‘ Giro d’Itaia’ and will become the first British winner of the ‘Tour’ as they go round the last stage of the Tour, this afternoon,  in Rome, around a circuit (10 times!) He also becomes only the third man to win three successive ‘ Grand Tours ‘ of France, Spain & Italy !!!

Sadly Liverpool lost 3-1 in the Final of the ‘UEFA Champions League’ after Mo Salah was forced off with a shoulder injury, Gareth Bale came on as a sub, in the second-half, and scored two goals, one a incredible bicycle-kick, and the Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, produced two huge errors, costing Liverpool two goals!!

We are taking things easy today and later this afternoon we are making a ‘ Skype’ video call to  Sandra & Bill over in Everett, Ontario, Canada for a good catch-up with all their news before they go way in their new trailer next weekend.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
