We all had a little lie in this morning, ‘Charlie’
slept all night on the rug & ‘Chico’ was in his bed, ‘Charlie’ lets us know
when it’s time to go out, by tapping you with his paw, we then freshen up and
get dressed, the two dogs wait, very patiently, on the wicker mat in the
office/studio, were they have a good roll & scratch! Brian & Jan
arrived home late last night so they are picking ‘Charlie’ up this afternoon, ‘Chico’
is due to be collected on Saturday morning, we then went for our first walk of
the day around the bottom of the village, when we returned we had our regular
light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast & tea.
We then put together the shopping list for tomorrow
morning when I’m out on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, we
have another ‘ Helluva’ weekend, on Saturday evening, after supper, we are
going down to the new Bar for the ‘ Blues/Harmonica ‘ Gig ‘ – on Sunday we are
out & about on the ‘ Costa del Sol ‘ meeting our friend Joyce, for ‘Sunday
Lunch’ and now on Monday we are shooting across to Fuengirola to meet up with
our friend Julie & her family, since we last met her she’s married, had
three children, her oldest daughter is just about to go to University to become
a Doctor, and in Llandudno she has busy life as a local Councillor (
Conservative/Independent) – so lots of news/gossip to catch up with! Watch this
space.
As we were out this morning for the first
walk of the day it was cloudy, grey & overcast with storm clouds, rain in
the air, very unseasonal, by lunchtime the sun is still forecast to break
through, but the threat of the wet stuff is still hanging around, still 21
degs+ Then from tomorrow and over the weekend it’s getting warmer, keeping dry
& sunny and next week is now looking dry, warm & settled, hovering on
the 24/25 degs+ mark at times, watch this space.
See below ‘ Llandudno Pier ‘ & Colwyn
Bay Piers’ yesterday !
At lunchtime Brenda popped along to the Chemists in 'Calle Mar' for our prescription tablets, the work at the top end of the street is nearly finished and is looking rather grand, we then went for a walk with both of the dogs, I called into the local Bank to pay another electricity bill and then on the way back we called into ' Bar Castillo' for a cool drink & Tapas, Paqui had just made a 'Potaje' - with Broad Beans, Potatoes & Artichokes' - delicious!

For supper this evening we are having the
rest of the ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Curry’ with a ‘Timbale’ of Basmati Rice
and twice-cooked Chips! On Friday it’s a ‘ Fish Supper’ depending on the local
market selection, then on Saturday we are going to have an early ‘ Minute Steak
‘ & ‘Frits’ before going out, on Sunday we are looking forward to our ‘
Roast Lunch’ out down in ‘ Castillo de la Duquesa’! ( Chef’s day-off!)
Just a quick update of the sports results
from last night; Manchester City won 3-1, Real Madrid lost 3-2 & Barcelona
won 5-1 and moved to within two games of an unbeaten ‘ La Liga’ season!
Today at the ‘ Giro d ‘Italia’ it’s Stage 6
from Caltanissetta to Etena over 164 kms, when Chris Froome is expected to make
a challenge on the steep climb to the finish, watch this space.
Yesterday afternoon/ evening we caught up
with two old Quiz Shows; ‘ The 100K Drop ‘ with Davina McCall and the later ‘
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ with Jeremy Clarkson, the only thing to say is
that the ‘General Knowledge’ of the British public, especially the younger
ones, has deteriorated, on both shows the contestants came away with the minimum
amounts after answering basic questions wrong!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
