A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 18th/ MAY 2018.

I was up first this morning and after a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, back at the house Brenda welcomed back ‘ Reina’ for the day, she’s back next week on Thursday/Friday again. I had my usual toast & tea in ‘ itZabar’ before going into ‘Mercadona’ for our main shop, I then walked along to the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers, it was then time to shoot back up the hill to unload back at the house.

Yesterday evening  Joyce ‘Baby’ rang to let know that she can’t make it this weekend as she has no car, we had a nice catch-up on the phone and have arranged to see her when she is next over at her house up in ‘ Alhaurin el Grande’ in September, watch this space.

We have another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ – the sun was out early and the sky is already bright blue, the clouds have cleared as there is a light breeze, by lunchtime it will be 22/23 degs+ - over the weekend we are in for more of the same, if just a little cooler, next week is now looking warm & sunny with a few clouds at times and still with the threat of the ‘wet stuff’ in the air! Hovering in the mid 20s, overnight 14/15 degs, watch this space.

See below the new beach, this morning, below Old Colwyn, Colwyn Bay, North Wales,  with ‘Tim & Thea’ taking in the sea air?!

After a short walk at lunchtime we ended up sat outside ' Bar Rojas' for a nice cool drink, in the very hot sunshine, in fact it was so hot that we moved inside later, were we had some of the 'House Tapas' including Monique's ' Empanadas de Atun - a slice of warm baked Tuna in pastry, delicious!

This evening for our supper we are having small ‘ Dab Soles ‘ – dusted in seasoned flour and shallow-fried in Vegetables Oil, garnished with Seared Asparagus Spears & Grilled Prawns, with lots of Lemon Wedges on the side, with Garden Peas & Parsley New Potatoes. On Saturday evening it’s going to be my version/recipe of the old classic ‘ Steak Diane’ using ‘ French’ trimmed ‘Entrecote’ Steaks with all the trimmings including twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ in the Basket! For Sunday we are now going to have, for a change, at Brenda’s request, my famous “ Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto

Last night we caught the final part of the crime drama “ Innocent “ – with great performances from all the actors – it wasn’t her sister, or her brother-in-law, nor her lover or husband, who murdered the elder sister, it was the only possible candidate remaining: the husbands brother!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
