I was up early this morning to see little
princess ‘ Reina’ back with us, for the only day this week, she as usual shot
upstairs and came on the bed with us for a little lie in before going into her
duvet outside the office/studio door, where she spends the morning as I’m
typing/ posting today’s Blog. ‘ Chispa’ has just come crashing in to see her
friend!
We then freshened up and had our regular
light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’- fresh fruit, toast & tea, before I got this
evenings supper on the go, with the help of the ‘ Second Chef ‘ See below.
This morning started rather grey &
overcast with earlier a light shower of the ‘ wet-stuff’ ! It has now cleared
as the sun has broken through and the sky is clearing, as there is a very light breeze, by lunchtime it’s
forecast to be 23 degs+ - over the next couple of the day we are in for more of
the same before over the weekend it’s looking dry, warm & sunny reaching
24/25 degs+ . overnight 15/16 degs, next week is now looking dry, settled, warm
& sunny getting warmer as the week goes on, watch this space.
Yesterday evening we went across to the ‘ Costa Del Sol Hospital’ past Marbella, for Brenda’s re-arranged appointment with the ‘ Heart Consultant’ – we arrived half an hour early and went in half an hour late, she was last on his list! The ‘Consultant’ was very thorough and went through all her past history, he re-viewed her currant medications/tablets, Blood tests etc, checked her ‘ECG’ records and the Blood Pressure/Heart monitoring that we take daily, then gave her a personnel ‘Electrocardiogram’ - at the same time asking lots of questions.
The ‘ RESULT ‘ was very good, all her
readings/tests are fine, she is stable, with a regular heart beat, and
responding to all the tablets’ etc, he’s adjusted some of them to help with the
overall picture, we have to go back to our Doctor, Natalia, to show her the
full report, his only concern, to keep her trouble-free in the future, is to
cut out all alcohol, especially the ‘Gin & Tonics’! The wine has to be only
one small glass of Red Wine per day – oh dear! A ‘ Good Hardship ‘ – I’m going to make sure
the ‘Red Wine’ in the future, is on the ‘ finer’ side, watch this space!
We then came back along the coast road past a glorious sparkling ‘Mediterranean’ on a ‘ Balmy’ evening and dropped down into ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ – I popped into ‘ Restaurante Macues’ to book a special table for when our old friends Jason & Donna are over at the start of June, the Owner greets you like a long lost friend, in the old style, we then were greeted by the Lady Owner, (Pregnant again 3rd!) of the “ Kinnnaree Thai Restaurante “ and given a nice window table overlooking the Marina, as you can see below.

We ordered our drinks( the new regime
begins today!) and then ordered from the
extensive menu, we had to start the ’Thai Chicken Spring Rolls’ & the
excellent ‘ Dim Sum’ steamed Prawn Dumplings,
for our main course Brenda had for a change the ‘ Pad Nam Prik Pao ‘ -
stir-fried Lamb Fillet with Chilli Oil, Lemongrass & Basil, with the house ‘Vegetable
Chow Mien Noodles’ and I had my
favourite ‘ Massamen King Prawn Curry*** ‘ with the special ‘Three
Delights Egg-Fried Rice’ as you can see below.
Sorry Iv'e lost the picture of the 'Thai Spring Rolls' !
We had a lovely evening, with excellent food & service, as usual, we have been going there since we arrived down here in sunny Manilva and where introduced to the restaurant by our dear friend Brian and his then wife Lilly! As we departed we had on the ‘house’ a nice ‘ shot’ of Brandy for Brenda ( her last!) and the iced ‘Caramel Vodka’ for me.

For our supper this evening I have just
made my now famous ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole’ – the diced ‘
Chicken Breast’ is dusted in seasoned flour and lightly browned off, I then make
the sauce with diced Onions, Shallots & Garlic, diced Carrots, Leeks & Celery
with the Button Mushrooms, all sweated-off with a large glass of Brenda’s White
Wine, I’m going to have to buy ‘ cooking wine’ in the future! The diced Chicken
is then added to the pan with a rich ‘ Chicken & Vegetable Stock’ as well
as lots of ‘Tarragon Herbs’ and the secret ingredients, then left to cook-off
under the able ‘ eye’ of the ‘Second Chef’ – who has prepared the Whole ‘French’
Green Beans, Glazed Carrot Batons and ‘Parsley’ Potatoes. The ‘ Aroma’s’ are wafting
upstairs and along our street!
Tomorrow morning I’m now dropping Brenda
down to Sabinillas, so as we can go to the main ‘Medical Centre’ first, to book
a appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, I will then drop her off at the
Hairdressers, she will then catch the local bus back up to the village at
lunchtime.
This evening we will channel hop and catch
up with all the news and things that we have missed, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
