A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 24th/ MAY 2018.

No lie in this morning, after a quick freshen up and then our toast & tea we shot out down to Sabinillas through the ever growing Green Vine Fields, with the sparking ‘Mediterranean’ basking in the already warm sunshine, our first port of call was the main ‘Medical Centre’ where Brenda made her appointment to see our Doctor, Natalia, next Tuesday morning, we then went along to the ‘English Bookshop’ for two birthday cards ( watch out it could be you?!) - the local newspapers are published tomorrow. Finally I dropped Brenda off at her Hairdresser, Anne, for her 10-00 am appointment for a quick cut/blow dry & style, before shooting back up the hill, Brenda is catching the local bus back up later ( Pensioners Rate!)

Tomorrow morning, as usual, I’m out on my travels back down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping, we then have quiet weekend ahead as we have no guests with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ – ‘Reina’ is back for two days next week, then a week on Monday little ‘Paddy ‘ arrives for his two month special holiday!

This morning in ‘Calle Mar’ the Contractors are laying the final pavement flags on the corner, by the main junction, they have just now started on the final central small flags from outside ‘Bar Rojas’ down to the end of the street, yesterday afternoon they finished putting up all the new Lamp Posts, the end is in sight, just the planter/flower units to come in, also spots have been marked all along the street, to make holes/covers for all the flag poles etc for the various 'Fiestas' Watch this space.

See Below; ( a little cloudy!)

The sun broke through earlier this morning, the sky is bright blue and the clouds have cleared, helped by the light breeze, but with more clouds on the horizon, it’s already warm and by lunchtime will be hot, hovering on the 22/23 degs+ mark, overnight 14/15 degs, on Friday it’s going to be the same then over the weekend we are in for a very warm & sunny spell, in the mid 20s+! Next week is also looking dry, warm & settled, with warm sunshine, all week, and over next weekend, despite on some forecasts, the threat of patchy rain is still in the air?! Watch this space.

At lunchtime we popped along to ' Bar Castillo ' for a nice cool drink and some Tapas, sat outside on the new street watching the World go by. I had called into the local Bank first to pay the Water Bill and also put some credit on Brenda's Mobile phone in the ' Tebacs '

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole’  with some twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ and fresh local Vegetables, on Friday it’s going to be a ‘ Fish n’ Chip’ supper, then on Saturday our usual ‘ Steak Night’ – on Sunday we are fancying ‘Lamb’ in some form, watch this space.

This afternoon we will be catching up with the ‘ Giro d’Italia’ after yesterdays sprint finish in heavy rain as Elai Viviani took his fourth stage victory of the 2018 Tour, Simon Yates has retained the race leaders ‘ Pink Jersey’ after his epic Time Trial result, today’s Stage 18, over 196 kms, is the first of three mountain stages before Sundays final run into Rome, see below;

This afternoon/ evening we will be watching our usual Quiz Shows ‘ Countdown, The 100K Drop, Pointless & Eggheads’ – then later channel hopping, last night we caught the late film “ Payback “ from 1999, a re-make of the classic “ Point Blank “ starring Lee Marvin, with Mel Gibson, this time taking the main role, as the ‘ Bad Guy’  with Kris Kristofferson, William Devane,  James Coburn & Gregg Henry as more ‘ Mobsters’ who all meet the grim reaper!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
