We managed a little lie in this morning
before we freshened up and had a quick toast & tea, Brenda is in her ‘ ing’
mode catching up with the chores around the house, meanwhile I shot down to
Sabinillas to call into the main ‘Medical Centre’ to arrange an appointment to
have my first monthly ‘ Vitamin B-12’ injection, they gave me one for ten
minutes later so I had to shoot back up to the house to pick up the injection
capsules, as I walked back in the Male Nurse, that I know, called me straight
in! Now that’s ‘ Service ‘!
The sun was out early this morning and the
sky was bright blue, again, as I shot down through the vine fields, it’s
already hot & sunny and by lunchtime we will be in the mid 20s+ - the rest
of the week and over the weekend is staying the same, with a few occasional
clouds on the horizon, there will be just a light breeze, making it rather pleasant
for the time of the year, next week is now looking warm & sunny, but on the
long-range forecast there is still the threat of some of the ‘ wet stuff’- watch this space.
This evening for our supper we are keeping
it simple; ‘ Pan-Seared Fillets of Chicken Breast’ – flattened and finished in
foaming Lemon & Balsamic Vinegar Butter, with finely sliced French Green
Beans and thick-cut slices of Baked Potato sautéed until crisp & brown in
Parsley Butter. On Wednesday we are going to have ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ with
all the trimmings and of course twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – Thursday is find
something in the fridge day and then on Friday we will be having a ‘ Fish n’
Chip ‘ supper, as usual Saturday will be ‘ Steak Night’ – all depending on when
we are going to meet up with our friend Joyce Baby’ – Sunday is still TBC – for
the same reason, watch this space.
Just a quick update on the ‘ Moffatts’ Tim
& Thea, over in Old Colwyn, North Wales, they have been spotted in the
beautiful old city of Dubrovnik, in southern Croatia, fronting the Adriatic
Sea, they are there as a ‘ Birthday ‘ present from Jo, their daughter, for Thea’s
60th birthday back in January!
At lunchtime we went for a short walk and ended up sat outside ' Bar Castillo ' for the first time this year, sat in the warm sunshine with a nice breeze, on the new ' Calle Mar' - as we took in the sights & sounds of sunny Manilva, as we had our cool drinks and some Tapas.
This afternoon we will be catching up with the ‘Giro d’Italia’ on Stage 10 from ‘ Penne to Gualdo Tadino ‘ as the tour crosses the ‘Appennines’ over 244 kms, the longest stage of the Grand Tour, as Simon Yates, the British rider, leads the tour in the ‘Pink Jersey’ – he won yesterdays mountain top stage, when sadly Chris Froome fell behind and lost more time.
See the route map below;
This evening after supper we will be watching
the second episodes of the four-part series, over the next three nights of “
Innocent “ – the main character is unexpectedly acquitted after serving seven
years for the murder of his wife, lots of ‘telltale signs’ that hint at more to
follow, and if so who was the killer, the sister and or her husband, an old
friend, who was having an affair with the wife, or somebody from her past?! Watch
this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
