MONDAY 21st/ MAY 2018.
We had a little lie in this morning as the village, as usual, is very quiet, the ‘Contactors’ working in ‘Calle Mar’ have moved down the street towards the main junction, it could be finished by Friday, watch this space. It would just leave all the snagging etc, as they put up the new Lamp Posts and the Flower/Plant display containers! At lunchtime ' Bar Rojas' had delivered new White Tables, Chairs & Umbrellas, which all the bars have to have the same! Watch this space.

This week in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ we are
quiet, with only little princess ‘Reina’ with us on Thursday/Friday, no doubt ‘
Chispa’ will be calling in & out all the time. On Tuesday evening we are
going across to the ‘ Costa Del Sol Hospital’ past Marbella for Brenda’s
re-arranged appointment with the ‘Heart Consultant ‘ – then on Friday morning,
as usual, I will be out on my travels, down to Sabinillas for the weekly
shopping.
The forecast for the week ahead is now
looking settled with clouds at times, the sun will break through and the
temperatures will slowly improve, hovering on the 23/24 degs+ mark, overnight
15/16 degs. There will be a light breeze also that could still bring in some of
the ‘wet stuff’ occasionally, the weekend is looking warm & sunny and the
long range forecast for next week is now looking sunny & warmer, going up
to 25 degs+ - just right for the time of the year, watch this space.
This morning “ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & WWW on the
Internet’ was back ‘live’ on air from
the main studio in sunny Manilva, as Andrew Charles presented his ‘Breakfast
Show’- it has been off-air for a few weeks with technical difficulties, I sent
in a request, asking him to play, for ‘ Sir’ Malcolm & ‘ Lady’ Brenda a
track from ‘ Nine Below Zero’ – ‘Three Times Enough ‘ featuring Mark Feltham on
Harmonica ! A ‘ Great’ track, as he said!
I’m
still hopeful that I will be back on air ‘Live’ in the not too distant future
with my ‘ Eclectic’ show “ Sir Malcolm’s Classic Session “ broadcasting live
from my Office/studio here in the centre of sunny Manilva, watch this space.
We went for a short walk at lunchtime and ended up at ' Bar Castillo' sat outside for a nice cool drink, it was closed yesterday as Juan's mother was taken into hospital with a heart problem. a nice couple, Chris & Lorraine came along, so we ended up having a nice chat with them, they have moved into a duplex-apartment in 'Calle Utupia' below us! We are looking forward to meeting up with them again in the future.

For our supper this evening we are having
the rest of the ‘Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto’ with a few
twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ and a Tomato salad, last night Brenda had some ‘ Wilted
Fresh Spinach’ tossed in Oil & chopped Garlic, on Tuesday as we out &
about on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ we are going to treat ourselves to supper out! (
The Head Chef & Staff have been given the night off!) Then on Wednesday the
‘ Head Chef and his very able ‘ Second/Vegetable Chef’ will be back in the
kitchen as we are having one of his special ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon
Casseroles’ !! Watch this space.
Today is a ‘ rest-day ‘ over in the ‘ Giro
d’Italia ‘ – well deserved – as yesterday in a gruelling day in the ‘Dolomites’
Britain’s Simon Yates stormed to a sensational sole win on stage 15 to take a
tight grip on the overall lead, his third stage win in the tour this year, as
he attacked with 18kms to go, leaving his rivals in his wake, Tom Doumoulin,
the reigning champion fell back as did Chris Froome sadly! Tomorrow it’s the ‘
Individual Time Trial ‘ from Trento to Rovereto over 34 kms, watch this space.
This afternoon/evening we will be watching
our regular Quiz Shows, ‘ Countdown, The 100K Drop, Pointless & Eggheads’
before channel hopping later.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
