A VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 27th/ MARCH 2018.

I was up early this morning to see little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she joined Brenda on the bed and after a quick freshen up I shot off down to Sabinillas, as the sun was coming up above a sparkling ‘Mediterranean ‘ to go for my appointment at the main ‘Medical Centre’ for my blood tests, I was in & out in a minute and shot back up the hill through the bare vine fields, back at the house I had a light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea.

I then went along ‘ Calle Mar ‘ to our local Bank for some cash from the machine, just as the ‘Contractors’ were laying the first concrete at the top of the street, I then went down to our local Butchers for the Beef for tomorrows ‘ Curry’ – at the same time I bought some ‘ Chicken Wings’ for another day.

See ' Calle Mar ' below;

When I returned I made the ‘ Onion & Shallot, Mushroom Red Wine Salsa’ for this evenings supper.

It was then time to go back down to Sabinillas, with Brenda, for her appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, for her review/check up, as we arrived Natalia was called out to go in the ambulance, as she was the duty Doctor, she apologised and we had to re-book the appointment for next week, on Thursday morning, as they couldn’t fit her in with me on the Tuesday morning!

This morning the sun was out early and by the time I was down in Sabinillas it was already warm & sunny, by the time we returned the sky was bright blue & clear and it was hot – 21 degs+ and rising! When we came back up to the house it was nearly 25 degs+!!

Tomorrow it’s the same and for the rest of the ‘ Semana Santa’ week of religious celebrations/parades, the forecast is now looking dry & sunny, right up to Easter Monday, when the wet stuff is due to return, it’s just going a little cooler over the weekend, “ Fingers Crossed “  Watch this space.

At lunchtime we went up to ' Bar Rojas ' for a nice cool drink, we couldn't sit outside, with no shade as it was too hot! We had some very nice 'Tapas' - the house ' Ensaladilla Rusa ' & 'Pincho's' ( small skewers) of Curried Chicken' !

This evening for our supper we are having ‘ Pan-Seared Lambs Liver’ – sliced thinly and dusted in seasoned flour before cooking it in hot ‘ foaming’ butter, garnished with ‘Grilled English Pork Sausages & Spanish Crispy Smoked Bacon ‘ along with a sauceboat of the ‘Salsa’ I made earlier, with Cabbage with Acelgas & Glazed Carrot Batons and the rest of the ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes. On Wednesday I’m making a large pan of my famous ‘ Beef & Mushroom Curry ‘ served with Brenda’s equally famous ‘Basmati Rice’

Over the weekend, late on Saturday evening, down by the ‘Council Pabellon’ next to the sports complex/football ground, there was a ‘ Spring Music Rave ‘ taking place, outside in the square there was a altercation between some youths, sadly one of them, a local lad from one of the ‘ Five’ main families in the village, was punched in the head, twice, and died. The village is in shock and as the news came out on Sunday on ‘Facebook’ etc - the tributes started coming in, by Monday, The Mayor, Mario, our neighbour, had called for three days of the mourning, the Regional & National TV Channels picked up on the news also.

The ‘Council’ then announced a demonstration/protest, to take place at 7-00 pm in the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ on Monday evening, to say “ NO – TO VIOLENCE “ on their ‘Facebook’ Blog page, I read the Blog, but the translation button was not working so I missed the ‘gist’ of the details, as there was more information about the funeral arrangements at the same time, so sadly we missed the ‘Demo’ – I called in later and spoke to the Mayor, Mario, at his house, and said we were sorry, and would he pass on our condolences to the family, who we know, he’s one of a local ‘Councillors’ nephews. I did place a black remembrance marker on the Blog page.

The local ‘Police ‘ with the help of the ‘Guardia Civil’ are working on the investigation.

The whole village turned out to show their support, over 1500 people, as you can see in the pictures below, as they went on a short walk down to the main roundabout and back to the square.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
