A CRISP & DRY, BUT STILL OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 19th/ MARCH 2018.    DIA DE PADRE – FATHER’S DAY “

I was up early this morning to see little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she shot upstairs and claimed the ‘top’ spot on the bed, as usual, ‘Chico’ spent the night on her duvet and ‘ Scruffy’ was in his bed! After a quick freshen up we took ‘Chico & Scruffy’ for their first walk of the day, in the dry! We managed yesterday’s two later walks, also in the dry, as the stormy weather had moved on, for now, while we were out we popped into our local sub-post office to send the ‘ Easter Card’s’ off, to the family, around the World.

When we returned we had our usual light breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ fresh fruit ( Banana ) toast & tea before sorting ourselves out for the week ahead, we are still waiting to hear from Rose, who is still in Hospital, about how long ‘ Scruffy’ is with us, ‘ Chico’ is being collected on Wednesday morning, ‘Reina’ is back tomorrow, for the last time this week, on Thursday  morning I’m dropping Brenda at her Hairdressers in Sabinillas and at the same time I will call into the main ‘Medical Centre’ to arrange appointments for my blood tests etc and an appointment for Brenda with our Doctor, Natalia, for a review/check up, then on Friday I will be out on my travels, back down in Sabinillas, for the weekly shopping, watch this space.

NB; The clocks go forward on Sunday 25th!

As I said above, this morning it’s crisp & dry, at the moment, a little overcast & grey but with some blue sky on the horizon, the black clouds are moving away, but the threat of the wet stuff has not totally gone away, over the next few days the sun is due to return, but then on Friday and over the weekend, including ‘ Palm Sunday’ - it still looks miserable, to say the least, with the threat of more rain!  For next week’s ‘ Semana Santa’  religious celebrations, leading up to Easter Sunday it’s mainly looking dry, warm & sunny but still with the possibility of some of the wet stuff, watch this space.

See below the Black Storm clouds leaving the beach down in Sabinillas this morning!

Just a quick sports results update; over here in ‘La Liga’ Barcelona won 2-0 and Real Madrid won 6-3 in a slightly bonkers match at the ‘ Bernabeu’ as Ronaldo scored four, his 50th hat-trick for them!

Over in Everett, Ontario, Canada Sandra has still not got over her cold, along with Bills, it how now tuned into Bronchitis, she had some pain in her chest and went to the ‘Emergency Department’ of her local Hospital, where she was prescribed ‘Ventolin/Atrovent Nebulizer ‘ -which gives you side effects, making you jittery & anxious, she is now lying on the couch, watching the TV, get well soon, take care, our thoughts are with you.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Escalopes of Pork Fillet – Schnitzel ’ – coated in seasoned flour, then dipped in a ‘Campo’ Egg wash and then coated with local breadcrumbs from the Bakery, shallow fried in Vegetable Oil until crisp & Brown, served with lots of Lemon wedges! They are garnished ‘Holstein’ style, topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg, Capers & Anchovy Fillets, resting on a pool of Tomato salsa, with a bed of ‘Spaghetti Milanese’ – fine Spaghetti tossed with slices of Smoked Ham in a rich Tomato salsa!

“ Classics from the past “ The ‘ Schnitzel’s’ from when I was on holiday in Innsbruck & Salzburg, Austria back in 1956 and the ‘ Spaghetti ‘ from my time as an Assistant Manager at the ‘La Bussola’ Italian restaurant in Bold Street in Liverpool’ one of the first Italian restaurants in the city, back in the 1965!  ‘Happy Days & Memories!!

Last night we channel hopped and watched nothing in particular, this evening we will settle down after supper to watch the next exciting episode of the Police/thriller murder hunt, ‘ Marcella ‘ as they close in on the killer! Watch this space.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
