A ' CRISP' & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 22nd/ MARCH 2018.

We were both up early this morning, ‘ Scruffy’ is still with us and for a change slept all night in his bed, we then freshened ourselves up and had quick toast & tea before heading off on our travels down to Sabinillas, we took ‘ Scruffy’ for his first walk of the day, on our way to pick up the car from the ‘ Councils’ underground car park, we then headed down through the vine fields on another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva.

We have just heard from Rose, she and Adrian are being brought home later this afternoon in the Social Services Ambulance, so we are taking ' Scruffy' down to their apartment complex, we are going to miss him as he's such great company and a real character, Adrian & Rose have missed him terribly and are looking forward to seeing him!

I first called into the main ‘ Medical Centre’ and made our appointments, one for Brenda with our Doctor, Natalia, for her check up/review and the other for my blood tests etc – both next Tuesday morning, as I asked for. I then dropped Brenda off outside her ‘Hairdressers ‘where she is having the ‘ full-works’ – she will catch the local bus back up to the village at lunchtime.

At lunchtime we, I & ' Scuffy'  - met the bus and walked back up to the house with Brenda, I then shot along to the local Chemists, in 'Calle Mar' for some more of our prescription tablets, on the way out I bumped into our friend ' Fran' who owns ' Hostal & Bar Ocana ' - yesterday we had a Facebook message from 'Jason & Donna' - old friends from the Wirral, they are coming to visit us in June, on their way to a friends 50th birthday party down the coast, in ' La Cala' - thye have asked us to book a ' B&B for them, so Fran showed me around the 'Hostal' and I have booked the large double-en Suite with Jacuzzi & lounge, overlooking Calle Mar for them!

We then went up to ' Bar Rojas' again, for a nice cool drink & Tapas, sat outside in the even hotter sunshine, for the last time this week, before the ' wet-stuff' hits us again!

Yesterday evening we had a nice news-update from over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, Sandra has taken a couple of days off work, she still has a sore chest, a pulled muscle or a touch of pleurisy, she's going back to see her Doctor today, it's the first time she's had a cough in many years, our thoughts are with her, get well soon!

PS; Today was a good day ! Finally the pain in her chest is diminishing and she has stopped coughing !!

It’s another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun broke through early and the sky is bright blue with not a cloud in sight, by lunchtime it will be hovering on the 17/18degs+ mark, still a little cooler during the night, 9/11 degs, over the next three days we are sadly loosing the sun, again, and the grey & overcast weather is returning with some of the wet stuff also, including on ‘ Palm Sunday’ at the start of the ‘ Semana Santa ‘ religious celebrations and parades, for the week, leading up to the Easter Weekend!

Next week is now looking back to normal, the sun is back and it’s going to be dry & sunny, reaching 19/20degs+ - but sadly there is still the possibility of the wet stuff returning at times, watch this space.

See below the beach down in Sabinillas this morning;

PS; Don’t forget the clocks go forward this weekend!

Just a quick line to say farewell and a safe journey to Tim & Thea, as they set off from Mojacar, this weekend, on their way collecting their daughter, Jo, from Madrid, then crossing on the ferry from Santander to Portsmouth and returning to North Wales and their home in Old Colwyn, they are due back in September, when we hope to be able to catch up with them!

Colwyn Bay promenade on Thursday evening!

This evening for our supper we are having the rest of the ‘ Casserole of Beef’ with a selection of vegetables and the rest of Brenda’s famous ‘Mashed Potato’ – tomorrow night is ‘ Fish Night’ – depending on the market selection and then on Saturday it’s our usual ‘ Steak Night’ – for our ‘ Sunday Roast’ this week we have a local ‘Leg of Spanish Lamb ‘ with our favourite ‘ Boulangere Potatoes’ and all the trimmings!

See below a different picture showing the old & new architecture of Liverpool!

Last night, after supper, we channel hopped and ended up watching a film over on ‘Channel 5 ‘ – “ A Walk Among the Tombstones “ starring Liam Neeson as a former Detective in the ‘NYPD’ – now a recovering alcoholic, unlicensed private detective, hunting the killers who kidnapped and brutally murdered a drug-traffickers wife, it all takes place in the back streets of New York, as he races to catch the killers, blurring the lines between lawful and criminal as he goes! Not one for the squeamish, as there is lots of shooting, stabbings, fighting etc!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
