I was up early this morning to see ‘ Reina’
back with us for the day, she’s now in her duvet outside the office/studio
door, we only had a little lie in as the noise from the ‘JCB’ digger/drill
breaking up the pavements at the top of our street, on ‘Phase 2’ of the re-development
of Calle Mar, was shaking the house!
After our normal light breakfast of ‘
Weetabix’ fresh fruit, toast and tea I went and collected ‘Scruffy’ for the day,
he’s now at my feet as I’m typing/ posting today’s Blog. Brenda is catching up
with the chores around the house in one of her ‘ ing’ modes!
After breakfast I made this evenings
supper; “ Chicken & Mushroom ‘Tarragon’ Pie “ in celebration of ‘ British
Pie Week ‘ – I sweat-off the diced Onion & Shallots with Garlic, with a
small dash of ‘ Lea & Perrins & Tabasco’ and lots of ‘ Tarragon’ - then add the diced,
Carrots, Leeks, Celery and Smoked Bacon Bits, together with a good slug of
White Wine, before the Baby Mushrooms, I then adjust the seasoning before
adding the lightly ‘browned-off’ diced Chicken Breast that I had dusted in
seasoned ‘Tarragon’ flour. It’s then left to cook-off under the eagle eye of
the ‘ Second Chef’! The aromas are wafting up the stairs and around the house,
this evening I will top it off with Puff Pastry Lids. The ‘ Vegetable Chef’ is
serving local glazed Baby Carrots ‘en Branch’ & Garden Peas with Parsley
New Potatoes.

For the first time in a few weeks we have awoken to a clear blue sky, a light breeze and sunshine, it’s a beautiful day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol ‘ in sunny Manilva! But sadly it’s not due to last, as there is still more rain to come over the next few days and into the weekend, the overall temperatures are hovering on the 17/19 degs+ mark for now! Next week is still looking, at the moment, like it’s going to be more of the same, still unsettled for now, watch this space.
See below a spectacular picture taken last
night of “ The Three Graces “ on the Pier Head in Liverpool – ‘ The Royal Liver Building, The Cunard
Building & the Port of Liverpool Building ‘
At lunchtime we went up to ' Bar Rojas ' and sat outside in the hot sunshine for a nice cool drink, Brenda had a large glass of the local 'Barbadillo' White Wine and I had my regular, friendly 'Bacardi & Coke' - with some light ' Tapas - Boquerones, Empanadas and an old favourite of ' Carne Mechada ' - marinated Loin of Pork- which in the old days was a special of Lumy!

Yesterday afternoon we caught up with the final episode of ‘ Collateral’ on the ‘ BBC I Player’ – with the excellent Carey Mulligan in the main role as a Detective, with attitude, in the murder squad, the Traffickers got busted, the killer/shooter, who was a lady Captain in the Army, shot herself, the Labour MP grew a backbone and dumped his gambling/addict wife, who was stealing her nanny’s money, to gamble, and told his party boss where to go!

The ‘ MI5 ‘ agent helped his double agent
get off after she gave the game away, to the police. The two sisters got their
Asylum granted, as the older one gave birth, the lesbian Vicar gave up her live-in
lover, sadly the ‘ Mr Big’ – of the
people trafficking, ex military, got away to Luxembourg! Gripping to the end
with pace and panache, one to catch if you can.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
