A VERY SUNNY & ' CRISP' MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE ' CHRISTMAS' WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 22nd/ DECEMBER 2018.

We managed just a little lie in this morning, ‘Chico’ sleeps all night in his cosy bed, he’s very good & waits for his first walk of the day as we get ready, when we came back we had a call from our dear friend Joyce ‘Baby’ up in Alhaurian El Grande, she’s over from Chester, for nearly a month, so we are planning to meet up with her over the festive period.

‘Chispa’ has been in & out to see her friends and us, this evening ‘ Charlie’ is due to arrive for his ‘Xmas Holiday’ ( six days) – on Xmas Eve ‘ Reina’ is with us for a sleep over, last night, at the last moment, Lee & Daniela’ joined us for supper, that they missed the other night, Lee also checked out all the TV/Skype systems as he’s away on Holiday for nearly two weeks. ‘Reina’ is back with us next week leading up to New Years Eve, when she’s joining us as usual, I’ve just had a message from Rose asking us to have ‘ Scruffy’ on New Year’s Day for a sleep over, then ‘Bo’ is back for 3/4 days in the first week of the New Year ! It’s all happening in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ Watch this space.

It’s another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out early and the sky has cleared and is bright blue, in the sun its warm, in the shade a little ‘ crisp’ – by lunchtime hovering on the 19 degs mark, over the weekend it’s more of the same but sadly on ‘Christmas Day’ it’s now forecasting some of the wet stuff, the rest of next week is now looking warm, crisp & sunny, even getting a little warmer by next weekend, in time for New Years Eve, watch this space.

After a quick breakfast of toast & tea we shot down to Sabinillas with ‘Chico’ – he likes going in the car, I called into the ‘English Bookshop’ for the local English newspapers and the TV Times( 2 weeks special) – we then carried on down to the ‘English Butchers’ in Puerto de la Duquesa and collected the Xmas order, a Crown of Turkey, Legs & Thighs separate, a Loin of Pork, skin on, for ‘ Crackling’ – large ‘Pigs in Blankets’ – I also couldn’t resist a very nice piece of Boned & Rolled Topside of his Best Beef – for another day!

On the way back we went along the promenade, in Sabinillas, to the local market at the far end, for some wall plants, he gave Brenda a lovely, large, Poinsettia, as we are good customers! It was then time to come back up the hill, through the vine fields, to a very sunny Manilva, I’m back down, first thing in the morning, for the main weekly shopping in ‘ Mercadona’ – which will now be a lot easier, after this morning’s ‘travels’!

This evening we are starting the ‘Xmas Gourmet Extravaganza ‘ with a posh ‘ Fish n’Chip ‘ supper – ‘ Goujons of Hake Fillet ‘ in a light ‘ Cruzecampo’ Beer Batter with Mushy Peas and of course lots of twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – Homemade Tartar sauce on the side with lots of Lemon Wedges!

Last night after supper we watched the final of ‘ Master Chef – The Professionals ‘ the right one won! It was then time for the last episode of ‘Love, Lies & Records ‘ on BBC TV, at the very end there was a surprise choice made, I wont’ give the game away , watch it to find out!
