I was up early this morning to see little
princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she shot into her duvet, the best
idea today as the wind is blowing, the clouds are black and it’s cold & wet!
‘Charlie’ slept all night on his rug by the side of the bed then this morning came
on the bed with us, he’s being collected later, we are going to miss him as he’s
a real character and great company.
I then shot down to Sabinillas to the ‘English
Bookshop’ for a birthday card that we needed to get in the post, at the same
time I reported that our Xmas Cards to Australia & Canada, which we posted
on the 1st December have still not arrived?! They go by ‘ Royal Mail
‘ after being weighed and measured, they were all very special cards this year
and we are very upset that they didn’t make it, yet! Watch this space.
Yesterday we spoke to Jack & Lyn over
in Melbourne ( 35 degs+) and yesterday evening to Sandra & Bill and their family
( - 10 degs & heavy snow!) in
Everett, Ontario, Canada, we spoke to Sandra’s son, Neil and her daughter Alanna,
with her boyfriend Blake, who is a Chef, Bill’s son, Dylan was also there with
his girlfriend Kritika, it was so very nice/lovely to speak to them and they
were very ‘ Chatty’ with us, we have arranged to call on ‘New Years Day’ via
the Skype video! Watch this space.
Later this morning we are making contact
via ‘Facebook Messenger Video’ with Norah & Jenny, over in Runcorn,
Cheshire as it’s Jenny’s 70th birthday, they are going out later,
her card has arrived!!
See the ' Birthday Girl ' below;
‘Father Christmas ‘ did make it to sunny Manilva this year despite the weather! See below.

This morning here in sunny Manilva it’s not
very nice, to say the least, there is a stiff breeze, the sky is overcast and
the clouds are black, there is rain in the air, overnight it was heavy,
yesterday stayed dry and the sun broke through later in the afternoon, it looks
like it’s in for the rest of the day, tomorrow will be back to normal, the sun
is back and it’s dry and clear, hopefully, the rest of the week and over the
New Year’s weekend into next week, 2018, it’s forecast to be 18/20degs+! Watch

This evening for our supper we are keeping
things very simple, after the ‘ Gourmet ‘ extravaganza of the past few days, we
are having ‘ Omelette’s ( Campo Eggs!) – Cheese for Brenda & Mushroom for
me, with finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked ‘ Stringfellows’ – tomorrow
night it’s going to be a ‘Turkey Curry’ with Basmati Rice, then of Friday we
will have a ‘ Fish n’Chip’ supper, the weekend menu’s are yet to be agreed,
watch this space.
Just a quick update on the football
results; Liverpool won 5-0 but Everton could only manage a goalless draw,
Manchester City play this afternoon, at Kempton Park ‘ Might Bite’ won the ‘King
George VI Chase’ – sadly today’s ‘Welsh Grand National’ at Chepstow has been
postponed, because of the bad weather ( rain & snow!)
See below two pictures, one a painting, and
the other one a more recent picture of the old “ Collegiate Grammer School “ in
Shaw Street, at the top of London Road in the centre of Liverpool, that I went
to back in the early 1960s! My classroom was on the first floor, the large
window on the right-hand corner of the classic building.
This evening we will be channel hopping and
finding something to watch after supper.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
