A VERY ' CRISP & COLD ' SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 1st/ DECEMBER 2017.

I was up early this morning and after a quick freshen up I saw little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, I then shot down to catch the local bus down to Sabinillas, on my travels, for the weekly shopping.

My first port of call was at the ‘ English Bookshop ‘ to post all the ‘Xmas’ cards and collect the local ‘English’ newspapers, I then walked along to ‘Mercadona’ for our main shop, at the check out they called for a taxi, which brought me nearly back up to our house, the taxi driver called her husband, who lives in the village, and they then unloaded all the goods and brought them up through the back/steep street to our house, as the taxi/mini bus could not get through!

Back at the house I had a quick tea & toast before getting our day on the go, Brenda is catching up with the chores and I’m up in the office/studio on the ‘WWW’ before typing/ posting the Blog.

This morning as I set off it was a beautiful day, the sun was out and the sky was bright blue, the only problem was that it was very ‘ crisp’ & cold, as forecast, 3/4 degs, it’s due to reach 16/17 degs by lunchtime, over the weekend and all of next week is now looking the same, unusually very cold for the time of the year,  the thick duvet is going on and the Oil heaters are ready & waiting, but the threat of the ‘ wet stuff’ has gone away, as you can see in the forecast below, watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having ‘Goujons of Hake Fillet’ – deep-fried in ‘ Cruzecampo Beer Batter’ with Mushy Peas & twice-cooked ‘Frits’ accompanied with a homemade ‘ Tartar’ sauce and lots of Lemon wedges! On Saturday it’s going to be ‘ Grilled Fillet Steak’ with all the trimmings, then on Sunday we are roasting a ‘ Chicken ‘ with a savoury Herb stuffing, Goose-Fat Roast Potatoes and a selection of local fresh vegetables.

Later we are starting to bring out all the Xmas decorations/lights and sort them out, we will then put up our new tree and get ourselves into the festive mood, tomorrow morning, when the village is quiet we will pop down to the ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’ and ‘acquire’ some fresh ‘Pine’ branches!

Last night after supper we settled down to watch the next episode of ‘ Love, Lies and Records ‘ as ‘ Kate’ – Ashley Jensen – faced another day of the ups & down of life, a missing daughter, an anonymous email sending shock waves through the register office, her detective husband investigating a murder, a work colleague changing ‘ gender’ etc!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
