A STILL ' CRISP ' & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 8th/NOVEMBER 2017.

I was up early this morning to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, she joined us back on our bed and we all had a little lie in, she then went into her duvet, as usual, she’s back with us on Friday morning, this week also, when ‘ Scruffy’ is with us for the morning as Adrian & Rose have an appointment at the hospital, Brenda then grabbed a quick shower ( cold!) as the gas bottle finished, she didn’t call me too change it to the spare one, oh dear! I’m showering later as the gas bottle delivery man has just dropped off the new one!!

For our breakfast we had toasted Sausage Butties smothered in ‘HP’ Sauce with mugs of strong tea, then ‘ Chispa’ came crashing in to see her friend and us, we are taking things easy today catching up with the chores around the house as tomorrow morning we are now able to go across to Estepona, I’m going to my Barber, Manuel, for the full-works and Brenda needs some cosmetics from her favourite shop, as well as a little window shopping, no doubt.

Yesterday evening Mano & Anna called in for a chat & gossip, they are still planning to go back to the UK where their daughter Sally Ann has now settled with her son Dylan, in New Mills, Derbyshire, on the edge of the ‘Peak District ‘ They are still trying to sell their house, which has been on the market for quite a few years, watch this space.

At the same time Lee was here collecting ‘ Reina’ so he checked out my problems with the ‘IT’ system, which is still not working properly, he’s going to set up a new radio/connection system to the main ‘stack’ to get a better power connection to the new ‘Fiber Optic’ system, at the same time he installed on ‘Skype’ the payment programme, so we are able to call Norah & Jenny on their landlines via Skype, its ‘ VERY’ cheap, Brenda then called Jenny, for a test call, and after a little time it worked fine. Watch this space.

See below a picture taken back in the mid 60s of the " Empress of Canada ' on the River Mersey, it used to take people who were emigrating to Canada at that time!

We have another sunny morning as the sun was out early and sky is blue, there is still a stiff breeze making it ‘ crisp’ hovering in the low 20s, it’s still very pleasant on the sunny side of the street but you need a jumper in the shade! The rest of the week and over the weekend is staying the same and next week is now looking settled, warm & sunny, with no sign of any of the wet stuff, the night-time temperatures are still a little cool, for the time of the year, in the low 12/13 degs range, so the duvet is needed, as well as our ‘Love’ to keep us warm!  Watch this space.

Last weekend in Llandudno, North Wales, they had a spectacular, new, 'Fireworks Display '  as you can see in the picture below.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks’ topped with seared Pineapple Rings and of course a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg! Tomorrow it’s going to be ‘Omelettes’ – Cheese for Brenda and Mushroom for me, Friday will be ‘ Fish ‘ night and then on Saturday it’s as usual ‘ Steak Night’ – the ‘ Roast ‘ on Sunday will be ‘Chicken’ as long as I remember, this week, to buy one! Watch this space.

Last night after supper we channel hopped and watched later the new ‘Rick Stein’ series as he travelled down from San Francisco to Mexico, it brought back memories of our trip across America from Florida to Los Angeles, back in the early 80s, when we had to slow down crossing the country as there were ‘ Gas – Petrol ‘ strikes, so we didn’t make it, as planned, to reach San Francisco.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
