A CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.

MONDAY 13th/ NOVEMBER 2017.

I was up early this morning to see little princess ‘ Reina’ back for the day, she shot upstairs and onto our bed were we all had a nice lie in before getting the week on the go, we had our normal breakfast of ‘ Weetabix’ toast & tea, ‘Reina’ is back on Wednesday/Thursday so we are going to ‘Iceland’ tomorrow morning, along the coast past Sotogrande in ‘Pueblo Guardiaro’ for our ‘Xmas’ essentials.

On Friday morning when I’m out on my travels down in Sabinillas for the weekly shopping I’m going to pop into the ‘English Butchers’ in Puerto de la Duquesa to order our Xmas Turkey, and other ‘ goodies’ - he takes off the legs & thighs and splits the ‘ Crown ‘ in half, for ease of roasting & carving, this year Brenda has requested a small Leg of Pork with ‘Crackling’ for a change. I will order the ‘Entrecote of Beef on the Bone’ from our local Butcher in the village, I roast on the bone and then take the Beef off to help with the carving ( another secret of the trade!)

This morning has started a little colder than forecast, there is a light breeze, the sun has broken through and the sky is clearing, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 23/24 degs, the rest of the week is staying the same, hovering on the 20 degs mark, at night 12/13 degs, over the weekend and into next week we are in for more of the same, normal for the time of the year, we are putting all the fans away and the two oil heaters are coming out, one in the lounge and the other in the bedroom, ready for when they are needed, watch this space.

See below the beach down in Sabinillas this morning with the old fishing boats.

Tonight for our supper we are having the rest of the Chicken, cold, with a fry-up of the leftover vegetables & potatoes, on Tuesday evening, for a change, it’s going to be ‘ Medallions of Pork Fillet’ in a creamy ‘Green Pepper Corn’ salsa and then on Wednesday I’m making a ‘Beef Casserole’( comfort food for the gods!) using slices of ‘Entrecote’ of Beef, Thursday we be a ‘left-over’s’ day, Friday is as usual a ‘Fish’ supper, Saturday a ‘ Steak’ night and then on Sunday it’s going to be my famous ‘ Smoked Chicken & Three Green Bean Risotto ‘

Over the weekend on the sports front as there was no league football, due to the International Friendlies, we caught the ‘Grand Prix’ from Brazil as Lewis Hamilton carved his way through the field in the early laps after starting from the back of grid, in the pit lane, to finish 4th – in the ‘ ATP’Tennis Finals from London, Roger Federer won his first match, and in the ‘Autumn International Rugby Union’ England won, Scotland won, Wales lost and the best result was when Ireland beat South Africa, we also watched the ‘Rugby League World Cup’ games over in Australia, New Zealand & Papua New Guinea, which was very exciting, fast and hard as the smaller nations ‘Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea ‘ beat the more well know teams.

This week, as we have no appointments, we are taking things very easy, relaxing, reading a little, watching the new series on TV as they start ( Peaky Blinders!) and generally doing nothing, because we can!

PS; The local 'Waterboard' workmen have just called at the house to check that we have water, as this morning they are connecting all the house/businesses along 'Calle Mar' to the temporary system before the ' Contractors' start the main works, watch this space.

See below a picture of ' Calle Mar ' taken over a hundred years ago!

The house on the right is still the same today!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
