A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 14th/ JUNE 2017.

I was up first this morning and saw ‘Reina’ back with us for the day, she has had her claws cut and is also been put on a diet, she’s not a very happy ‘ girl’ as she likes her food, we had a little lie in before getting the day on the go, for our breakfast we had our regular fresh fruit, toast & tea, ‘Chispa’ then came crashing in to join us.

It’s already bright & sunny with a little breeze, the sky has cleared and we are in for another ‘ hot one’ later, 28/29 degs+ tomorrow it’s going to be even hotter, then over the weekend it’s settling back down and next week is looking the same, 21 degs during the night & 27 degs+ during the day, watch this space.

At lunchtime we went up to ' Bar Rojas' for a cool drink & Tapas sat under the ' Sonbajo' as the World passed us by.

This afternoon Mario Jnr, is back with us for his ‘English’ speaking lesson, he’s with us again on Friday for his last session before the Exam on Saturday over in Malaga. Fingers crossed & watch this space.

Tonight for our supper we are having ‘ Grilled Gammon Steaks ‘ topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg, with Garden Peas & twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – ‘HP’ Sauce on the side! At this time of the year we take each day as it comes with the menu planning.


I'm adding to our potato dish recipes over the next few weeks " Hasselback Potatoes "- the newish ' in ' potato, a potato in the skin sliced down, but stop just short of cutting all the way through, placing the potato on a large spoon is the secret, I'm going to use Goose Fat, they are baked in the oven, the dish comes from the Swedish Restaurant ' Hasselbacken, in Stockholm, they are also called 'Accordion or Pillbug Potatoes' - watch this space.

We are still watching the Quiz shows in the early evening before supper, ‘Pointless & Eggheads’ then later as there are no good series on at the moment we find a film to watch on the ‘ Kodi’ film channel; last night it was the “ The Departed “ from 2006, an American crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese & produced by Brad Pitt, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winston, Vera Farmiga, & Alex Baldwin. It takes place in Boston, the Irish mob boss, Jack Nicholson plants Matt Damon as a mole in the police, simultaneously Leonardo DiCaprio goes under cover in the mob, it then all kicks off, the climatic ending is not to be missed!

PS; We have received in the post yesterday lunchtime some birthday cards for Brenda, from her sisters and from around the World, Norah even put a post card in the envelope from Llandudno, she has been on holiday, the post is at the moment reaching us quickly, our family & friends post them sooner than later as we do, to make sure that they arrive ahead of time! Thanks!!
