I was up first this morning and welcomed
back little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, I then had a quick freshen up and
shot off on my travels, but not in the car, it’s jammed in the small square by
a strangers car, not a local, so instead of making a fuss I decided to catch
the local community bus, on the pensioners rate, down to Sabinillas, as usual
when you wait for the bus to arrive outside the ‘Wine Museum’ somebody comes
along, from the village, who knows you and gives you a lift down, this morning
it was our friend Jan, ‘ Charlie’s’ mum, she also booked him in with us for the
start of September! Thanks!!
I then collected the local English newspapers
from the ‘ English Bookshop’ before doing the main shop in a now busier ‘
Mercadona’ – at the check-out they called for a Taxi, which arrived in a
minute, back at the house we un-loaded and had nice cup of tea and toast, before
getting our day on the go!
This weekend it's the first 'Gay Pride ' celebration here in the village & down in Sabinillas and Puerto de la Duquesa.
We are in for a very hot weekend, the sun
was out early and the sky is bright blue, there is just a little breeze but it’s
already hot & sunny and by lunchtime it will reach 28/29 degs+ - over the
weekend we are in for more of the same, it’s also getting warmer during the
night 21/22degs+ -next week we are expecting it to get hotter and by next Friday
it will be 31/32degs+! Watch this space.

This evening for our supper we are having
for a change, fresh, local ‘Gambas a la Plancha’ – cooked on ‘Sea-Salt’ on the
griddle plate, with a nice Mixed Salad on the side and Brenda’s famous homemade
‘ Marie Rose’ sauce.

On Saturday we are having ‘ Grilled Fillet
Steaks’ with all the trimmings, then on Sunday it’s going to be a ‘Roast
Chicken’ from the local ‘Rotisserie in Calle Mar, with a nice Mixed Salad with
fresh Beetroot etc.
On Sunday in the village along Calle Mar it's the annual festival of ' Corpus Christi' at lunchtime when the whole village parades in their finest to celebrate the ' Last Supper ' - the street is decorated with flowers & wreaths and flower petals are thrown.
Last night after supper we watched another
good film from 2016 “ The Accountant “ – a American crime-thriller with Ben
Affleck in the title role, a small-town Ilinois certified public accountant
with high-functioning autism, who actually makes his living un-cooking the
books of dangerous criminal organizations around the world that are experiencing
internal embezzlement! Catch it to find out what happens next!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
