A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF A ' HELLUVA ' WEEK.

MONDAY 19th/ JUNE 2017.

We managed a little lie in this morning until a ‘JCB’ digger came up our street making a lot of noise, also I didn’t need to be up early to welcome back little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us, as it’s a Bank Holiday ‘ in Gibraltar so Lee & Daniela are not in work, she’s back with us on Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday this week, ‘Chispa’ has been in & out all weekend, next week in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ we have ‘ Scooby’ joining us for ten days, he was with us last year.

On Tuesday evening we have our regular appointment down at the surgery with the ‘ Chiropodist’ – we are expecting a call, any day, for a hospital appointment for Brenda’s  six month check up with the ‘Kidney’ Consultant, my appointment for my review with the ‘Prostrate’ Consultant at the end of September has just come in the post.

This week on Thursday it’s Brenda’s birthday, we have decided to go out on Saturday evening to celebrate, we are going, for a change, to the ‘Kinnaree Thai Restaurante’ down in ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa ‘ – we will go by Taxi, as the parking in the marina area at this time of the year is not good.

This coming Friday it’s the annual “ Fiesta De San Juan “ down on the beach in Sabinillas,  it’s to commemorate the birth of Saint ‘John The Baptist’ -  six months before the birth of Jesus, a large bonfire and fireworks, at midnight, are lit, to celebrate the summer season, on the shortest night of the year, the summer solstice, a large ‘Tableau’ is set on light, with roaring bonfires, drinks, food etc, all very Spanish.

Overnight we had another very hot and sticky night, to contend with, you can’t get to sleep until the wee small hours and wake up shattered, this is where the afternoon ‘ Siesta’ comes into its own!  Today it was already 26 degs by 9-00am, by lunchtime it will be 30 degs+ the week ahead is the same, getting hotter as the days go on, over the coming weekend it’s more of the same, the forecast for the months ahead is that it could be the hottest July & August on record, beating last year’s ‘hot spell’ – the hottest in over nearly sixty years, watch this space.

For our supper this evening we are having the rest of the ‘ Roast Chicken ‘ with all the salads etc, the rest of the week we are taking one day at the time, keeping things simple, watch this space.

Yesterday afternoon, later on, Mano & Anna called, Mano re-hung the curtains & drapes in the lounge, thanks, we then had a good catch up & gossip again, after all, we had not seen them for 24 hours!

See below some pictures of Liverpool, at night, over the weekend.

After supper we settled down to watch the second episode of ‘ Poldark’ – he hankered for action and the feud intensified, some British ships were missing, with two husbands on board, a baby’s ‘Paternity’ was called into question, the god fearing brothers caused mayhem, three bare chests were on show, all male! One husband was alive, in Lisbon the other missing in action in France, Poldark set off the rescue him, so some serious swashbuckling & bloodshed in next week’s episode!!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
